ED is 1 problem there is 99 problems in the healer role still need to be addressed,
as for what would make me happy is also stopping scholar from eating faeries.. it is like someone who eats his own pet to get damage buff
You need to not think of it as a damage buff, you need to think of it as a super powered rhizomata. It is an incredible button in prog because you can simply press a single button to get your entire gauge back at any time and get a buff to your GCD heals which doesn’t punish SCH anywhere near as much as it has both ET and spreadlo
If rhizomata or a theoretical lily generator generated all three of their respective healing tool and gave a healing buff you’d expect it to have a downside and a long CD like seraphism, macrocosmos and lilybell all have
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
Bit of a tangent but I’ve seen a terrifying number of Scholar who seem to think Dissipation is a direct damage increase lol. Like the fight starts, they use Aetherflow, 3 stacks. Use Dissipation while at 3 (lol). Raid buffs run out, they’re still on 3 stacks, Dissipation is finished lol. So they’re eating their fairy and gaining literally nothing in return lol (they don’t even use a gcd shield during it lol)
You still can't compare it to rhizomata, because rhizomata is a healing utility and Dissipation is again give you the option to damage or heal. You need to not think of it as a damage buff, you need to think of it as a super powered rhizomata. but why I can't use faere?
Describe to me Dissipation is healing buff or damage buff? or is it both?
and why I can't use faere if it is healing buff?
why I have to consume healing resource to have another healing resource? it doesn't make sense
It’s a choice. Dissipation has 2 effects and a choiceYou still can't compare it to rhizomata, because rhizomata is a healing utility and Dissipation is again give you the option to damage or heal.

Effect 1) 20% healing magic Up (so GCD heals)
Effect 2) no fairy for 30 seconds
Choice- what do you do with your 3 free aetherflow?
Dissipation does not deactivate fairy skills that are currently active, so you can use whispering dawn then immediately dissipate and whispering dawn will still run its regen. The idea is to use dissipation when you don’t have any other fairy skills you need to use as if only blocks illumination, whispering dawn, seraph, seraphism, union and blessing. If you have them on CD you are really only trading 9 casts of embrace for 3 aetherflow and a healing buff
Now as for the 3 aetherflows they have the same choice as just pressing the actual bottom aetherflow, you can use them for aetherflow heals or you can use them for energy drain. You don’t have to use them for energy drain. In an optimal environment it is a very slight gain to dissipate on CD and use 3 energy drains but that’s far from the only use of the skill
At its core dissipation is a gauge generator like rhizomata is, it just generates 3 gauge instead of 1 and gives a GCD buff at the expense of the fairy, it’s your choice what you do with those aetherflows just as it’s your decision making that determines how much of your kit you lock yourself out of based on when you press dissipation

I mean, that’s just how Scholar has always worked. Its healing spells and abilities are much more convoluted and exclusive than other healers which necessitates taking a tactical approach to utilising healing resources. I.E sacrificing the fairy for Aetherflow heals due to the tactical advantages of Aetherflow healing over fairy heals. Or using Dissipation to supplement gcd shields with Deployment. Seraph and fairy skills being on cool-down so you use Dissipation to continue healing without having to interrupt damage output. Etc.
Basically the main concept for Scholar has always been ‘weaker and harder to spells and abilities whose true value is only shown when used tactically’.
I.E Excogitation used to only activate at 50% (and people complained lol so we got the current ‘always gives a mega heal’ version lol), a single Adloquium barelys helps anyone but if it’s Deployed suddenly you’re literally negating entire mechanics, etc.
So based on your explanation is trading 9 casts of embrace for 3 aetherflow and a healing buff is overall a healing buff? It’s a choice. Dissipation has 2 effects and a choice

Because from my experience it is not but it is for damage
A dissipation buffed spreadlo absolutely dwarfs 9 casts of embrace. Considering the state of tank sustain embrace may as well be deleted at this point for all it actually adds to SCH

That's the takeaway though. If you use it correctly, it's a powerful tool for useful healing without gimping yourself i.e. having no fairy when you need to use a fairy ability. In which case, that's player's issue & hopefully they learn better next time to not just willy nilly press the button.
At worst I can only say that Dissipation is an 'outdated' button thanks to the plethora of lostless actions we get on both SCH and other healers in recent expansions.
