Man that'd be sooooo lame....
Well, she travels with him (I guess) so I'm hoping so too.
I wished he would just get rid of them tbh I never liked any of them.
It's utterly bizarre to me why he says the team is "torn over what to do with the Scions." The answer is right in the game. Just look at how they were handled in the previous expansions?
ARR: Meeting and establishing the Scions, who they are and what they do.
HW: Scions scattered, forced to flee to a new city with only Alphinaud and Tataru with us giving those two time for development, get Y'shtola back a bit later. In patches we one by one (well 2 for yda and papalymo) reunite and find out what happened/what they've been up to and add Alisaie to the team.
SB: Shift focus on formerly Yda now Lyse and Alisaie as two Scions we still don't know much about to journey with, bring along Alphinaud and Tataru for support. Y'shtola is injured in the begining, Thancred is around but doing his own thing and occasionally pops back in. This gives us time to also focus on characters like Hien, Gosetsu, and Yugiri.
ShB: We reunite with our lost companions one by one, giving them each a chance to shine and find out what their time on the First has been like. We can choose which twin to visit first. Then we meet back up with Thancred and meet Ryne. Urianger gets a glow up and chance to be his own character in Il Mheg. And lastly, they all convene to find Y'shtola in Rak'tika. Each Scion got a whole zone to tell a story arc with and let them shine. G'raha and Estinien join the Scions in the patches.
EW: (should have been two expansions) Started to drop the ball a little here, but we still had some good stuff. First two zones, the Scions split up so we didn't have to try and cram them all on stage at the same time, for example. That gives room for things like introducing Erenville in Labyrinthos and having fun with Estinien as a new Scion in Thavnair. Feels like Y'shtola was about to have some character development in early patches and then nothing happens.
DT: "what do we do with the Scions??" answer: cardboard cutouts with no personalities that barely interact with the new cast. Huh???
What do you mean "what to do with the Scions"?? Do anything but the last one! Cycle them in and out of the spotlight! Have them living their own lives and doing their own thing when not in the party! This isn't difficult!
It was crazy to me that the twins talked about going back to Garlemald. That was the filler subplot. Or is Dawntrail the filler and now we're going to get back to the 6.X patch story?
Idk im cool with them putting scions on back burner. Let the twins help garlemald, urianger thancred yoshstola can chill in sharlya as well as krille and let tataru continue her buisness. I would say of this let gra ha come with us. Not as Sharlyian, nor scion, and as an archon but as a simple sellsword like us. Let him come with us on adventuer. We made a promise back on first let us honor that.
You open the door theres nothing in sight. You close the door wondering whats in sight. But lets be honest its probably gonna just let you down.
Isnt there a rumor they want to "convert" ff14 to mobile? No idea how that gonna work though. Also another one is now they trying to make ff14 for xbox so there is that tooIt does feel like we have a completely different yoship this time around even compared to the release of just one expansion ago. I don't know if corporate put him and a portion of the ff14 dev team onto too many projects at once since it's rumored his division is working on 2 other secretive projects other then ff14 currently and he doesn't have the time to oversee and put all his time on ff14. Or if there are other reasons things turned out how it did with dawntrail.
Alphinaud did nothing this entire expansion. The dude is the most politically active Scion that we have apart from Urianger. He shares 0 insight with Wuk Lamat's plight and gives her no advice or a push in the right direction. He is just there to make another joke about collecting freaking firewood. Meanwhile Alisaie has, somehow, completely dropped her mask and become this oddly affectionate character specifically to Wuk Lamat. Normally you'd have to pull her teeth out to get any kind of positive relationship with her that wasn't masked in some kind of bravado. But with Wuk? It's all loving talks and pet names. Who are these characters?
Alphinaud would not only offer, he would demand, that you listen to what he has to say in regards to leadership. There is literally no one better in this plot to get advice from than that man in this instance. He has failed and fallen harder and been built back up from scratch and knows the pains that Wuk supposedly feels. But he just doesn't... They're only here to be Trusts and thats it. Trusts should have just been like what past trials did with random NPCs. Give me a Mol Shaman and stuff like they did in Stormblood to fill out the roster. I have 0 issues with that rather than bastardise beloved characters in order to shoe horn them in for the system.
Guys...I have a tinfoil as to why we had the twins this expansion...please don't tell me it's to have lazy filler bodies for trusts...???
I think ff14 for mobile devices was one rumor and also rumored that yoship division was possibly working on ff9 remake and a possible ff tactics remaster as well. But don't know how true the rumors are.
That is when the true Vana'diel of legend will be reborn.
