Please tighten up the housing system

Whether or not this person's server has available plots that they hadn't availed themselves of due to preference, I am still a proponent that having such a resource fundamental for several aspects of the game limited to a fraction of the actual playerbase seems silly.

60 plots per ward (including the subdivisions), 30 wards per locale, 5 locales per server, makes 9000 plots per server, and 72,000 per standard logical data center.
288,000 in NA and JP, 144,000 in EU, and 45,000 in OC, makes a grand total of 765,000 houses available in the game as of now.

If each half ward has 20 smalls, 7 mediums, and 3 larges (based on the Goblet, unsure if this is different in other locales as I wasn't bothered to check), then that would make...
510,000 smalls,
178,500 mediums,
and 76,500 larges, across all servers.

For a game that likely has a handful of millions of players playing actively enough to maintain a house, this is unacceptable.

If a person has the aspirations to foster a large FC, or even just flex their creativity or participate in design contests, then it would be a bit silly to expect them to just tolerate a small estate. And yet, mediums and larges are so fought for because of their scarcity, sat on by those with the means to constantly upkeep their sub, even if they don't actually participate in most gameplay anymore. And in some cases, a single person will monopolize several of this extremely limited resource.

I will never not be a supporter of instanced housing. But until that happens, we need so many more restrictions on who can own a plot in a ward, and how many. Letting people grandfather in their monopolization of a ward is the third dumbest thing ever to come out of Square Enix (the second and first probably being XIV 1.0 and the push for NFTs).
