"Yes, we have seen some feedback about Wuk Lamat"
You guys know it is coming.
They won't talk about Wuk Lamat. The only moment they could talk about it it's when they will have something else to sell to counterbalance it : the next expansion.
Them not talking about Wuk Lamat AT ALL will actually be the good sign. Already is. Check the recent interviews, Yoshi P mentions basically all the characters except for her. Wuk Evu, Bakool, Krile, Erenville, Honey B, Sphene, Otis, etc. I am talking about 2 recently released interviews, one about Dawntrail's characters and the other about multiverses. Both have mentions of many Dawntrail characters, both lack mentions of Wuk Lamat completely.
When the team likes a character (or thinks players like a character), they fanboy over them together with the community, they promote them further, meme about them, whatever. The silence speaks for itself. Try to remember the last time they suddenly went silent about a character central to an expansion.
We should take Yaana and Honey with us back to the source - one may have family in Tural, and the other is clearly bored with Solution 9 and could use some adventure.
I do believe they will act on the feedback but they will never address it outside of an incredibly safe corporate PR response of "we're always looking for feedback to improve the game" or some things along that line.
Sad part is, just some short scene with him alone talking to himself with "He the old man was right, his kids did figure this out... cant believe the birds could keep their act though..." and all would be fine.
The whisdom head made this plan 3 years ago? more then enough for some trials, yet most stuff feels like "ehh idk, just do some chores and we'll see..." xD
This is what i was thinking about the whole thing spins around Wuk Lamat. If its not important to "her" story its ignored or sidelined. It feels the whole world building is just a background for her so she can talk about the 4 F's Food, Family, Friends, Fiestas.
I generally expected more world building and some connection to the rest of the world, but you are right the whole area lives in a vaccum even more than alexandria ...
From a writing angle, it's all backwards. This is what i was thinking about the whole thing spins around Wuk Lamat. If its not important to "her" story its ignored or sidelined. When other regions were created, the region came first- if even in concept- and that informed the characters. With Wuk, they created her first and then tried to build tje world around her.
That part's classical stage writing. What makes it sting though is in the pursuit of her having a positive, upbeat expac... they erased all teeth the story could have, made everyone around Wuk morons, and gave her wins and screen time where nothing was done.
I'm ambivalent on Stormblood, by the by. It was alright. Not amazing, not terrible either. It was clumsy, but there was an earnestness to a lot of it.
I don't know what in Jibbers Crabst name happened here.

For all your Localizer shenanigans.
True. One of the sidequests heavily imply that the Hanu are playing ignorant for people who are doing trials in their land. Since you were part of Wuk Lamat's trial they had to play dumb with you. But once you're no longer part of a trial they let their hands slip.Sad part is, just some short scene with him alone talking to himself with "He the old man was right, his kids did figure this out... cant believe the birds could keep their act though..." and all would be fine.

Problem is, that's in a sidequest and it could just be another writer cleaning up the garbage MSQ.... or if it was intentional it's very easy for a lot of players to miss.
Ishikawa wrote a bunch of patch content for Stormblood, which is where the expansion was saved IMO

They won't mention it. It'll be a miracle if they do, and it'll be a super miracle if they give more then just a basic and blunt "we heard the feedback, we'll work on it during the patches" type of thing. It'll be an omega miracle if they actually go "Let's talk about Wuk Lamat-" and then proceed to actually talk about her. At the very least though, the fact that the recent interviews COMPLETELY left Wuk Lamat out of the conversation and answers shows that maybe, at the very least, they KNOW about the dislike for her, but might just not be sure of how to go about addressing it. It would be one hell of a shit show if the devs and writers do actually acknowledge the Wuk hatred: only to just push the blame onto ALL of Wuk's voice actresses and go "It's not the story that made you hate Wuk, it's the job all the VA's did!" instead of taking responsibility themselves.
Dawntrail did you dirty girl, it did you dirty.
