Every time I hear it in Spanish I die a little. The worst is when it's someone here in the US doing it and speaking Spanish (I've never heard anyone from LATAM do it unironically), because I completely lose track of the conversation. My Spanish isn't the best so hearing a made up gender on a word takes all my processing power to figure out WTF they're trying to say.

The only time I've heard or saw the attempt of the gender neutral one, the one ending in "e", it's usually from politicians or companies, and every time the response I see it's "habla bien" followed by a swear word.
If I heard someone using it in conversation, I'm pretty sure I would walk away. I'd rather appear rude than hear that.

Culturally appropriate voice acting contributes to a richer, more inclusive delivery of the story. When diverse cultures are represented with the respect and authenticity they deserve, overall the ability to deliver the story improves.

Please, for the love of all that's unholy, find a new way to deal with your personal sense of guilt.
