Which is why I've been criticizing the horrible accent as well but interestingly enough, that conveniently gets ignored by the defense squad... I keep forgetting the opinions of people of a demographic only matters when it aligns with specific ideologies.

Yup, they did the same to me. My background is somewhat similar to Sena's.

Half Mexican, grew up in the US, and I can sorta speak Spanish, though my ex from CDMX told me my accent when speaking was surprisingly good (according to her I sound like a norteño, which makes sense because I lived my entire life in the US southwest). But seemingly just like Sena, I can't for the life of me speak with a Spanish accent in English without it coming off as offensive. I imagine trying to speak with an accent while trying to emote and produce a pitch a couple octaves over normal timbre would be a nearly impossible task for most VAs

I work in gaming and can tell you that localization for just text is ridiculously expensive. My company had a relatively small amount of text content localized and it cost 10's of thousands of dollars. I can only imagine how much it would cost to localize the game into Spanish. Even text only would either be horrendously expensive, though that price inevitably will go down with AI (cut most of our localization costs down by over half). I wonder how many Spanish players there. The ROI to translate it may not be there.

Oh I imagine that was the case. But then again, I don't know what the director was thinking when giving the ok to that.

I honestly don't care about translation, I'm more concerned with having to pay ridiculous extra taxes because SE refuses to localize the price of the sub.

Once that's handled, then I'll worry about translation.
