How is it that every time a Mentor gets in my instance they are always the worst one by far? Just had a Bardam's Mettle where a Mentor WHM couldn't keep me alive and I got kicked because I wasn't pulling as small as they liked, went back in later with another WHM and they had no problem keeping me alive.

Does anyone else notice that Mentors always are the worst or is this just me?

Whenever I play DRK the mentor Tank in the Light Party is always the worst

In my opinion if the healer or tank says they want smaller pulls then just do smaller pulls. At the end of the day the run is not going to be faster because deaths WILL happen. Mentor doesnt mean you're an excellent player it just means your willing to help out new ppl any way you can.

It's not very difficult to get the mentor crown tbh
the only 'hard' part would be the commendation requirement, but if you play a tank or healer you'll get those pretty frequently

Why do you feel that mentors should be mistake free? That's not what the mentor role means

It is like that sometimes, mentors are often either the best player or the worst player in the party, at one point I decided I didn't want a crown because I didn't want to be associated with them. That said I have been a mentor for some months now and I am only human, I can't speak for everyone but I do mentally kick myself when I make mistakes - even as small as getting clipped by an AoE snapshot or failing a slidecast, sadly (as much as I might hate it) it doesn't stop me being the worst player on the party sometimes.

Of course it's also true that Bardam's is one of the nastiest dungeons for it's pulls vs healing/mit balance, tanks will often pull short of the first two walls (per Stone Vigil) because of this, I have had instances where full W2W pulls in that dungeon have reduced me to Presence of Mind for Cure 2 spam just to stay afloat. In short; don't let it colour all your expectations of mentors and remember that we all have our off days.

To be quite blunt, the kind of people that rush to have the funny burger king crown on their name because they think makes them special are the kind of people that WILL pay for Ultimate clears.

Why do you feel that mentors should be mistake free? That's not what the mentor role means

It's not that they should be mistake free but I know to unlock mentor you need to have max level in a tank, dps, and healer, and you need like 1500 commendations. So with all that play time how do some Mentors still not understand the fundamentals of their classes? I'm not saying a player should be perfect but when I get a mentor who is constantly using cure 1 instead of cure 2 and never uses any other healing when I use all my mits and invuln and I'm still dropping I do not get it.
