True, but the fantastic natural style of early FFXIV was one of the few things people liked about it.

On one hand, these weapons look fantastic and creative, on the other hand they don't mesh with the beautiful natural style I was drawn to in the first place.

I think the SE team has a sense of humor. A lot of these funny looking ones are intentional. I mean seriously, think about it. How funny would it be to punch someone in the face with a brick attached to your hand. =D

It is not funny to make the most powerful weapon for a Class into a joke.

How would you feel if the best THM weapon in the game was just a cube?

It's bad enough that they are hideous. But to seriously make them into a simple cube that magicly becomes a bigger cube.. Its embarrassingly pathetic.

Awesome about it, because on of the best weapons in another game, would show up in your hand as a giant question mark, so I am cool with it.

Well. It would depend on the nature of the cube. I personally don't think the PGL weapons look too bad. But from a design stand-point I think it can be hard to make fist weapons look unique and interesting without over-using particle effects. I.e. hands on fire, hands engulfed in wind, etc. The cubes look fairly interesting, yet out of place, though the older Final Fantasy games were built upon the foundations of Humour, be it through dialog, characters, or items.

Retractable weapons are the new thing nowadays.

I like the THM's weapon though with the mini world/moons orbiting.

LOL @ the PGL's fists.

I like them all excluding the Conjurer's one. Although the BLM one makes me kind of afraid that Arcanist/SMN isn't in the plans anymore.
