    I think the weapon transforming can be a good discussion, JP side seems to be liking the transforming actions.
    So far no one complaining about that other than few talking about stop making joke weapons for puglist. Difference in culture there I guess.

    Personally I love all the transforming weapons... even the cube knuckles.... even though it looks weird... it's unique.... will go good with subligar.....

    I think its cool, though, it should be only a few weapons that do it, not every new weapon that is coming out.

    It loses it's magic.

    Now if af weapons do it, won't be as amazing. Because 20 weapons did it before it.

    The reason for the horrible scaling is because the base models for the weapons themselves are very simple. It's why they go out of their way to make the textures so detailed, and the size makes said details easier to bear. Some weapons can get away with simplistic design (Atiesh being a good examples, as its basically a stick with an owl statue for a head and two straps hanging from the top of the shaft). Stuff like The Bladefist and the Glaives of Azinoth, on the other hand...

    PS: What's so wrong with that sword? It has a striking resemblance to Burtgang. It just happens to collapse, which I find to be a neat effect.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:
    Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

    People don't understand something. In some FF games, "fantastical" weapons fit within the artistic boundaries of those worlds. In FFXIV, it clashes with the art style and seems out-of-place. It's like wearing clothes that don't match.

    One of my favorite things about XIV has always been the gear design. I feel they really managed to hit this sweet spot between "functional" and "aesthetically interesting"; Not simple real world leather hide and chain mail, but nothing over designed or gaudy (Aside from the AF gear, but really, they should be a bit gaudy) either. These new weapons are definitely reaching into 'over designed' and 'gaudy' territory, and I can't say I care for them. You can have a weapon look unordinary and stylish without looking like a toy. Demon and Dark Souls I think did a pretty good job in that regard (aside from a few example)

    New and interesting weapons are cool. And personally i don't mind the designs but except for the bow nothing there grabs me. Heck i've been trying to find a spear that looks like a spear. I suppose i like Details and shapes of weapons more then Weapons + lots of extra stuff stuck to it.

    For instance Many of the pictures linkedfor the Past FF swords. FF10 Sword made of water. Yes its fantasy But it is a sword. Its sword like in form and function. and its made of water. theres the fantasy/"magic" party. Take for instance The Guardia Bow vs This crafted GC Bow. I like the Crafted bow because while detailed with an interesting form. Its bow-ish. The Guardia bow i'm not a fan of mostly because its a bow, with way oversized wings stuck to it.

    I doubt are really arguing for 2 more years development spent on plain steel swords. (The crafted sword is pretty nice)

    But i'm not really a fan of over-sized out of proportion weapons with tons of extra parts "glued" to them. In my opinion its not the greatest style one could use. Especially in comparison to non-job armor available at lvl 50.

    (and only in my opinion some of the weapons (Guardia and these crafted weapons) bear a style much closer to another MMO which i would really rather leave behind me then the game i've come to)

    I think the SE team has a sense of humor. A lot of these funny looking ones are intentional. I mean seriously, think about it. How funny would it be to punch someone in the face with a brick attached to your hand. =D
