I’ve only heard the characters EN voice but so far I think she’s doing a great job. No complaints. I don’t have any opinion yet on if I like the character, this game is usually good about showing growth and making you warm up to characters over time. Regardless of if I end up liking thr character or the writing though, the voice actress feels well cast and has unique charm. I’ve very suspicious of all the hate I’m seeing that’s specifically targeting the EN voice actress instead of the character.

Her JP voice is great, her english voice and accent on the other hand is beyond awful.

it's an inauthentic forced accent. i know it's acting, and acting is playing pretend, but he could have at least done a good job when trying to replicate that sort of dialect.

On top of the issue with the accent sounding inauthentic and forced (which isn't that unusual tbh, most actors are no good at imitating an accent that isn't their own) - the VA had a bit too much to juggle between the forced accent AND the "cat" voice she was trying to do. I think that maybe, just maybe, she would have done better if she only had to do one of those. The reason for my thoughts are the occasional bits where either the accent or the cat voice slips, and surprisingly... the VA seemed almost better for it. Still not stellar or anything, but better.

Tbh I'm not even sure why they had her do the weird cat voice on top of everything. The German VA is amazing, but it's just a normal, fitting voice, no weird cat stuff. Same goes for the JP VA.
