People have to "advertise every static as inclusive" because LGBT people in gaming often get harassed just for existing just like in real life. The fact that you can't even grasp this concept makes you look sheltered and lacking in empathy.

There's no "both sides" or "playing the devil's advocate" bullshit, because one of your so called "sides" just want to live without people harassing them.

Players who actually "don't care" wouldn't spend their energy crying on a internet forum about a made up scenario in their head.
You want harassment? How about IRL when I worked as a cashier, had a gay man who wouldn't take "No" for an answer, and stalked me for 3 weeks. He got my phone number found out where I lived and followed me home, it got to the point I had to file a restraining order. I just wanted to live without being harassed by a gay man, but I got absolutely LAMBASTED as a "bigot and a homophobe" for DARING to speak out. So now what do I do when I have a gay man in game that starts spamming me with the Dote emote, then starts sending me tells? One who when I ask them please not to, I get lambasted as a "phobe" again? There is a grand total of 3 people on my blacklist, and he is one of them. I certainly don't get any fucking empathy.

The fact you and others don't get the concept that there are plenty of bad people in the LGBTQ++ as well makes you look sheltered and lacking empathy. Though no, I don't get a choice. I don't get a choice to have a damn good reason to be scared or a little bit freaked out when I have an LGBTQ++ player run up to me and start doing lewd things to my character. Even more so if they decide that me saying "please don't" isn't a reason to stop. Why? Oh simple, many know that it's just so easy to slap me with a "phobe", "bigot", or whatever else they want in order scare me into complying. Doesn't matter I have a legitimate reason, which granted is rare to have a legitimate reason, to be a little bit upset that ONCE AGAIN I am being forced to deal with it. The fact LGBTQ++ exist doesn't bother me, the fact quite a few want me to treat them differently does. I just want to treat them like anyone else, BUT NO, I have to treat them special because THEY ARE DIFFERENT, WHICH THE MUST LET ME KNOW RIGHT FROM THE GET GO. Nevermind that it brings up a particularly terrifying moment in my life. I don't mind if someone is LGBTQ++, (hell one of my brothers is gay), but please for the love of the Twelve, don't sit there and pretend like it's "just living without being harassed". They want recognition for being different, that it's not the recognition they want means i'm automatically a POS.
