Now everyone has to put LGBT tags in their bios and advertise every static as inclusive, as if who you're attracted to has any bearing on whether or not you can clear the content; and on top of that, the LGBT activists are claiming ownership of franchises and fandoms that never belonged to them in the first place. FFXIV is for the players and the people who pay a monthly subscription fee to be there, it's not a platform to sit on your soapbox and scream real-world ideology - and that applies to both sides of the argument. Both sides need to shut up and play the game, and stop actively ruining the experience for everyone who does just want to sit back, immerse themselves in a fictional setting and play for a few hours. Activists talk a bit game about human decency and inclusion, but can't stop their crusade for long enough to realise that you're negatively impacting the game for the vast majority of players who simply don't care for ideology in their video games. I want good stories from my games, I want good value for money and I don't want political talking points rammed down my throat by either the developer OR the playerbase.

But I'm sure that makes me a bigot, or a Nazi or some such slur seeing as I'm more right-wing than Chairman Mao and just want to play video games.
Please tell me how LGBT tags in bios and LGBT inclusive communities are ruining your gaming experience. I'm sure you have a good reason why it bothers you so much when you're reminded that these people exist in the game you play.

I've been playing since 1.0 and there were LGBT linkshells since the very beginning as there were "hardcore raider" linkshells (free companies didn't exist back then).

Every video game community has all kinds of people. It doesn't "belong" to anyone.

Even in-game LGBT representation has been there since ARR. There's the same-sex couple in the questline for Wanderer's Palace Hard. Yoshi-P even made a point to release Eternal Bonding with the ability for same-sex marriages after player feedback changed his mind from initially wanting to release it without and gauge interest after.

True, stupid peoples do harass others for their difference since the humanity exist. which leaded to wars, genocide etc...
But, you know, over actively promoting "inclusive" make thoses cretin even more angry and aggressive.... And, tire out the peoples who was never bothered by others sexual orientation, skin color, religion, handicap, etc.... to begin with.

Because : We don't want to be part of your "war".

Oh, BTW, a lot of thoses famous "inclusive" people are not inclusive at all since a lot consider that all middle aged white man are automatically some brutal sexist who abuse women, homophobe and racist.... And also, if you don't agree with them on everything you are a racist and sexist bigot.

It's tiring, i'm tired of this BS.... Please take your "war" elsewhere, i want to just peacefully play.

Oh, and you wasn't especially targeted by my post, i just took the oportunity to use it to vent a bit.

Yeah, I had mentioned Haurchefant and Jandelaine before in this thread and didn't want to repeat myself but I guess it does bear repeating. Jandelaine himself is probably the most flamboyant FF character since FFXI's Mayakov.

Extremists are in every context, but LGBTQ+ people just existing and deserving rights (the thing people are against in this thread) isn't extremism.

I might add that LGBTQ people and their oppressors are still part of your community and environments. Thing is, LGBTQ people don't have the luxury to just call it off and have it be peaceful and quiet. Because that's status quo, and the current status quo is still seeing them oppressed and killed.

That's exactly what I've been trying to say, but it seems that the majority of people in this thread are claiming ownership and deciding they can just push out everyone who isn't a rabid LGBT activist.
I'll reiterate again that I personally don't care about gay characters or the sexuality of any player who plays the game. I care that they can play the game. I just hate that this thread appears to be the community finally placing an ever-changing rainbow flag in FFXIV and saying "This land has always been gay."

    Everyone HAVE rights. Period.
But we are at a point where you can't say no to some minority without having a sh*tstorm... This will no make their fight for less discrimation any good, but hey don't care...

No that's the paradox of tolerance

Not everyone has rights sadly, both on the internet and IRL.

Call me when people will fear of losing friends and family ,get kicked out from their house or fear getting harassed while going outside and holding hands for being straight.
oh and when LGBTQ+ people will make threads complaining because there's a white or a straight character in a media.

Sounds like a made up scenario right?
