Tired of the Time Sink! Had enough of it from FFXI.

Your an Idiot. Crafting is a Time Sink. No matter how simple they make it for you. Even if it is just a list that you have to type in the amount and watch make itself. It is a Time Sink. That's what crafting is. That's why it exists. If you don't like it, stop crafting.

Obviously SE agrees that the animations are too long. Why else would they be changing them?

For example, a goldsmith standard synth strikes the orb three times. Why not just once? Still an animation, just a significantly shorter one.

There's nothing wrong with weeding out tedium.

Just like the OP requests. There times where I'm sitting at 50% progress and 20 durability. I know it's failed but I have to spend time waiting for the animations through the rest of the synth just to end it. An "Abort Synth" makes sense.

I personally don't think the process of repeating recipes is too tune consuming, but I wouldn't fault anyone for the convenience of a one button repeat option.

And as for your personal vitriol toward the person you quoted, I don't believe anyone who types "Your an Idiot" has any room to talk.
