Beastcoins = Company Seals

Hey all,

I am sure this has been discussed at some point but I was unable to find it. I suggest the following use for the currently unused beastmen currency:

"In a fashion similar to provision or supply tasks for companies, adventurers can help the realm by defeating the beastmen hordes that plague the outskirts or trade routes among the city-states of Eorzea. As proof of their exploits, adventurers may acquire beastcoins on the bodies of fallen Amalj'aa, Ixali, Kobolds, Goblins, Sylphs, and Qiqirn. They can turn them in to select members of their own Grand Company in exchange for company seals."

Exchange rates can vary depending on the city-state that beastcoins are turned in at. For example:

In Ul'dah, a player could turn in the three types of currency of Amalj'aa for the exchange rates of 1 Bronze Amalj'ok = 1 Flame Seal, 1 Iron Amalj'ok = 3 Flame Seals, and 1 Darksteel Amalj'ok = 5 Flame Seals. All other beastcoins turned in to The Immortal Flames results in a 1 to 1 ratio.

The other city-states would follow the same format. Limsa would require Kobold & Qiqirn currency. Gridania would require Goblin, Ixali, and Sylphs.

Again, if it has been suggested before, sorry for the redundancy. If you think its a good idea, support it here and hopefully they implement it in game. Thank you for your time.

I concur, only if the Grand Companies smelt the coins and make those missile batteries.

I would prefer being able to use those currencies to buy gear and cool stuff from beastman NPCs. The transfer to company seals just seems boring to me. (like something they would do if they couldn't think of anything fun)

A while back I suggested adding an NPC in front of every beastman stronghold. You could trade them currency for free Coffer Keys, which is fine, since you still need to fight your way to the chest, anyway.

Low tier currency x100 = tier one chests, mid tier = tier 2, top tier = gold, or something like that.

If they intend to do something like this, they need to make the drop locations of beastmen coins make a bit more sense. Unless something has changed since 1.20, Natalan only drops the worst type of Ixali coins--Willowknots. Whereas certain areas with lower-level Ixali are the ones that drop the higher-tier coins--Maple and Ebon.

Perhaps they could be used in the future to 'bribe' beastmen NPC guards and gain access to special areas in beastmen strongholds with special Coffers/NMs/etc..

Made a post about this and ppl alwasy took thread off track, sad really casue beastcoins to turn in for seals would be good, and SH raids woudl be usefull other then gear.

Actually, I like Zantetsuken's idea here... Trade them to beastmen for a pop item at an instanced fight. (like beastman seals to orbs for BCNMs in some other popular MMO)

Bit of a necrobump but. What is the deal with these beast coins? Has there been any dev comment on these?
What do you do with them? save or sell?

how about trade an xxx amount worth of coins to gain acces to a boss/dungeon...paying to a beastman npc in front of the cave
with ofc an uniqe drop.. that is if u beat it :P
