Long story here so TLDR version: Restrictions for creating a new character on Aether had me and my Wife who's home DC is Aether along with someone from Behemoth entertain the possibility of re birthing the FC on Dynamis with the chance of transferring the FC House (Large in LB with fully unlocked workshop and Rank 29 perks unlocked) Decided after reading a description regarding relocating to another plot VERY NEARLY cost us YEARS AND YEARS of work and subscription payments to maintain the plot for us and am now facing the possibility that I will not be able to return my Wife and Co-Leader to Aether.


Her account says she's eligible to transfer back 3 days after the transfer to Dynamis but with this news that it could be up to 90 days to return here has me in a state of panic, are there fail safes regarding bad transfers being able to return to their home datacenters or are we screwed?

After a transfer to Dynamis, you are stuck there for 90 days, there's no fail safe or way around it. Paid or not.

It's laughable how bad these changes are. I manage to get into an Aether server, then it tells me basically to go back where I came from, because it's too congested for me to log in. Okay? Why let me transfer then?

Then I can't transfer to a different data center for an unknown time period. So I'm just stuck? What a trash system. I guess the only option is to go back to my home world server and have no chance to play with my friends. Functional system.

Some people on this very forum will tell you that this is "for the greater good and that dynamis needs to grow and people need to stop going to aether"

yet this helps neither of those two.

Stuck. 3 days is the lockout for transfering to any home world so you can't just change home worlds every single day. However, new world classifications have a 90 day restriction imposed that I'm assuming is meant to promote people giving it a legitimate chance before hopping back. Though can you expand on the housing issue? I don't understand the "chance of transferring the FC House" section. My best assumption is something along the lines of:
- You were an Aether main
- You went to Dynamis wanting to get a particular plot
- you were not able to get said plot
- you bought a different plot instead, and while waiting you leveled your workshop and other things
- plot became available and you didn't realize the relocation consequences
- you now don't have the plot you originally wanted while having an FC full of resources and years of effort on Dynamis you're stuck with
- you find yourself unable to return to Aether as well

Not at all - 2 out of the 3 of us made the transfer to Dynamis one of which is my RL wife with all the FC Gil and the idea that the FC House is relocatable because of a quote regarding relocating FC houses to another plot that wasn't very clear if it was possible across data centers. I stayed once it was clear that was NOT going to be the case It would have been a fresh FC with a 30 day lockout from purchasing a new FC house regardless of the plot - It's ok but extremely frustrating because one - Wife is stuck on Dynamis with no ability to even visit but is totally self sufficient and do what she's been doing and 2 - We haven't lost years and years of work from my FC but have to wait up to 90 days to start bringing folks back =(

Aahhhh, okay. Well, if it helps any, in terms of running content if you have enough people of if you just want transfer gil every blue moon you could:
- create a Dynamis alt
- use an Aether alt
- send both to OCE/Materia where failure of data center travel is 0% because of extremely low population in order to trade gil and if they get temporarily stuck trying to return to home world it's fine because you can still run content on main and just fetch the gil in non-congestion hours on one side instead of both sides needing to be available
- self queue into dungeons or raids depending on how many people you have.

I'm actually somewhat surprised most statics aren't meeting up OCE instead of Dynamis just because it's a guaranteed transfer. Sure it doesn't have access to a decent MB like that or other players for visual effect, but in terms of pure raiding it's way easier.

3 months isn't hard, she doesn't run any content outside of MSQ to level - She gathers and crafts, I'm more worried about the other gentleman being stuck there too waiting for that blooming window and not having to jump through hoops just to engage with the FC and perks.

That's gonna suck T_T If you're from Siren, I'd recommend for them to at least have a 4-6 month plan because it might be a minute. Congested status only changes possibly on certain maintenances/patch drops and iirc, Siren and Gilgamesh were 2 of the worlds that normally stayed congested the most often. Aether before Dawntrail had 4-6/8 worlds congested at any given time and the spike in player count for DT is likely going to have it the same or worse for a bit.

You mean the spike in player count that is already falling off ? (just like every expansion btw, this is nothing new)

It wont take 4-6 months for players to drop off the game, this was a new expansion, people will leave just like they always do, a lot of the players in 14 are MSQ enjoyers which is fine, but they only come back for major patches for the story and that's it, then there are people who lost interest etc etc.

This "massive" spike aint the massive spike you make it sound like it is

I think now is a good time for you to accept that the congestion is done artificially by SE to justify the DC travel locks, there's actually no congestion or barely none.

So at 4am I was able to bring her to Siren as a Traveler but am unable to invite her to the FC - Outside of that, I can give her food buffs and entry into the FC house - Party with her if need be for MSQ and still interact as long as she doesn't get kicked back to Raffelsia - The kicker: She's still a member of the Novice Network here and retained Friendship with people here on Siren sooooo - Not to bad, we'll make it work unless our illustrious benefactors see fit to bring her home...=)




This slightly sucks: No access to her retainers, she'll be at the mercy of the servers going back and forth for the next 87 days..Thanks SE =\
