[Feedback] Data Center Travel Changes

I genuinely cannot fathom how the people who hate data center travel equate the minor inconveniences associated with it to not being able to play with your friends. Are people that attached to their retainers?
Leaving Dynamis as soon as anywhere on Aether opens up if dc travel remains as is.

I'm not bothering quoting the two people who replied to me, so let me just reiterate some things.

I said LAST WEEK when we were trying to farm EX2. As in, before the Savage tier dropped. There was no savage to be pulling away.

And guess what? Last night, at what are supposed to be NA 'peak hours', it took over an hour for my M2 party to fill. Some may argue that we should be patient and wait for parties to fill, but not all of us have hours to sit around and wait in a PF for it to fill. In addition, I will agree with SophiaDL. I asked my spouse, who lives on aether, how many PFs were up at the same moment that we had about 30. They had over 150. That is absurd to say the least, and it's certainly not being caused by travelers considering every time I tried to world travel there was not even a single Aether world available. The members of my static who live on Primal, and who prog in their free time, are already all the way through M3, but I have to sit for an hour to get an M2 party to fill and disband in two pulls because people lied about their prog points.

At this point I think you all who are being weirdly territorial about your own worlds need to consider that no matter how you feel, Square Enix gave us DC travel last expansion and let the community at large get used to traveling around. I feel deceived, because I only moved to Dynamis with the understanding that I would be able to freely travel around and play with my friends on Aether and Primal, and that is no longer the case. I am not getting the product I paid for, and at this point, I will most likely cease paying for it once my static is done with the tier.

Prime time for each Data Center is slightly different. You need to be on to see the up's and down's and decide for yourself. I only check PF on occasional between 8-11PM EST because I know people are not going into Savage too often past midnight. Most people that raid that have an IRL 9-5, would be ready to raid at 6 at the earliest. If that 6 is west coast, that would be 9PM my time. That's why most venues don't open earlier than 9-10 EST. Some Data Centers have more players in a specific time zone so you can shift that by 1-2 hours depending. To give a ranked pvp example, Crystal's upper ranked matches didn't start until around 10-11PM EST because they had a large Aussie playerbase and west coast people. Aether/Primal started at 8-9PM instead.

There's not a difference between you waiting to fill a group and you being inside of a trap. If your time is precious to you, and you're on a limited schedule, you don't PF. That is the longest method of clearing raid content. And it doesn't help that NA has a pattern of arguing over strats and having different clear and job requirements splitting up the available players for the same instance.

"all of my static who live on Primal are through M3" -> There were M3 and M4 PF's for Savage on Dynamis. Which means you missed the M2 clears considering I doubt people cleared M1&M2 on Primal/Aether and then came to Dynamis for M3/4.

"I am not getting the product I paid for" -> Congratulations, you feel the same as everyone on Primal, Crystal, and Dynamis felt for roulette's and PF use for a majority of EW. You travelling to run PvE content and having a cross-DC static was part of the problem. So you leaving the game if you don't want to change your behavior that was negatively impacting others' basic expectations of the game that they had for 7+ years is actually a good thing.

If you're referring to Primal that's not true at all. Since the tier launched there are regularly 60-100 high end parties up on Primal and they fill pretty quickly. Prior to the new travel restrictions Primal was completely dead at all times, which really sucked because it had an awesome raiding community before DC travel came around. Very happy to see it return.

I was happy as hell to see Primal recover so fast since that's where most of my gpose/raid friends are at. A lot of them were the one's that used to flood Jenova/Midgard iirc but originally came from Leviathan/Exodus. Though I have no idea what they want to/plan to do for Crystal. When I checked, Aether was like, 30-50% higher than Primal and 250-300% higher than Dynamis & Crystal. Aether's staying congested for a good bit with that much of a lead over even Primal, but I'm curious what they'll change congestion wise to try to balance Primal and Crystal.

If Aerhers congestion gets worse it will suffer a Balmung style lockdown. No dc travel into the dc for visitors only dc travel out. Aether players should come before visitors for logging into Aether end of story.

This is already the prequel to that with the restrictions. If people keep flooding one DC even now, yeah I wouldn't be shocked if the devs actually put their foot down and lock Aether to everyone except Aether natives.

They clearly want DC travel to exist while also having the individual DCs be able to function even with people going to Aether or the other region equivalents. This feature was never meant to just allow for the congregation of people in one place or for non-natives to live on the traveled to DC, it was meant for people to visit their friends or for friends to visit you and do some content together. That's it.

However, neither side is congested. If it were *actually* congested at any point in the last 6 weeks, then maybe Shadow would've actually seen some use. With this being week 1, it's just gonna drop off from here.
Shadow has no own population to speak of, so it's actually impossible to go there if you want to do anything as a split group. It's functionally pointless.

It's kinda sad to see that Light is almost double Chaos' PF numbers, but hey at least we have some content on our DC rather than have everyone flock to Light. I think assigning Light as the raid DC is really stupid and I reckon this kind of behavior is what caused SE to implement more limits to DC travel.

I don't know why SE insists on segregating its population. In an ideal world we'd be either a megaserver or we'd have cross DC PF/DF in the same region and save DC travel for cross region. I'm guessing there's technical limitations somehow but I hope they implement it...

Log in server is set to say a world is congested if enough peole are in que. Even if the world itself is not, I am on lamia its status is standard yet I still get the message.
