Bump for support. Happy to finally see some acknowledgement, even if it's nothing definitive yet.

Bump. Life is like a box of eye strain

i dont have this problem but i hope things change for yall, accessibility is pretty cool
I had so much hope but nothing changes, still the same blurry crap while movingThank you for that!
I found a Reddit post that may help some? Only for PC (might work for Mac, I'll try later) so console players are still out of luck, but it may be worth a shot if the bloom and blurriness is what is causing the eye strain. As far as I understand, ReShade is allowed under the TOS since it's not a direct game mod, but I may be wrong so use at your discretion. https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxivdiscus...ent_upscaling/
For me the biggest cause of eye strain and headaches is the bright flashbangs during boss combat. The player effects can be turned down or off, but the boss and arena effects can not be turned down or disabled. Hopefully if they do look into this they will give opacity / brightness settings for those as well.

okay, after officially taking the time to play another game on the ps5 for a few hours to compare, I can confirm that xiv IS giving me eyestrain. more than it used to prior to the update, too. I don't know if its how sharp everything is now, if its the blur when moving, or if its the bloom and glare, but I really do hope it changes in the future. I'm not as photosensitive as other folks I know who have been impacted, but it still is disappointing.
Still very unplayable, yeah.
it/its - 14 accessibility is bad, ease of access is not accessibility, jobs are boring. Transphobia ruins real attempts at criticism and it's whack.
As an avid gamer, I play 2 other MMOs (GW2 and ESO) + Genshin. I have no issues in those games at all, and I had no issues in XIV before Dawntrail. I used to play this game up to 8 hours a day because I have no life, lol. Now I'm lucky if I can play for an hour before I have to take a break for various reasons: headache, dizziness, nausea, or a combination of them. I've only had these issues in first person shooters before, I get severe motion sickness if I can't zoom out. I've never expected to feel this miserable in XIV, I eat painkillers like candy.okay, after officially taking the time to play another game on the ps5 for a few hours to compare, I can confirm that xiv IS giving me eyestrain. more than it used to prior to the update, too. Professional lurker.
14 just keeps me in suspense but less because of the story or gameplay and more because I never know if I'll get to play it, I really never expected graphics changes that would impair my ability to play, but I was already concerned about moving countries, losing access to my steam one day, or having to move to console and not being able to use my preferred controller on PC anymore..
This game is so hard to enjoy sometimes lol
Square I already struggled through buying this mess and several expansions and years of game time, please just fix.. something

Please... I'm just want to play in the gold saucer... It's worse than a real casino now and it was already one of the places I could never stand with glare on
