MMORPG is mostly what is next to it, MSQ is minor in comparison, else you would just stay subscribed when there is an expansion and at every major patch.

Well... it's the case you know ? Even Yoshi-P is conscious of that and talked about it multiple times. FFXIV doesn't have the stability of most MMORPG because of that, because it's not retaining the player with constant grinding.
You remove the MSQ and FFXIV crumble on itself, you remove anything else, or even multiples "anything" the game will still be ok.

You are delusional on how the MSQ is the spine of the game, and a divisive MSQ is an massive problem for Yoshi-P and his team.

It is rubbles, if you truely play FFXIV, then it is most of all not for the MSQ, the MSQ through all expansions has and still got huge quirks.... the expansions is most of all the next 10 levels and better gear due to higher ilevel.

Again, if I order a full meal at a fast food joint, I probably didn't do it just for the "fries". Doesn't mean I can't point out the fries suck if that's the case. Even if I ordered the meal mainly for the burger, does that strip me of the right to complain about the fries because the burger is good? After all, I'm pretty sure the fries is part of the price I paid for.

Well, it's like I said, you are totally oblivious of what make FFXIV a hit if you think the story is "a side bonus".

All the MMORPG that concentrated themself on the MMO part crumbled.
What are the current MMORPG that are still alive and well outside FFXIV ?
GW2 ? ESO ? Lost Ark. All those game are massively story relevant.
Even WoW is trying with all it's might to become like that because they realized that's what work now for some years already. They are just blocked by their engine that isn't made for it.

MSQ was not relevant for either of these games other than setting the ambience most of all, if you hate the new areas in current FFXIV... which you most likely do not.. unlike EW... all you got is more or less broken worlds for half the areas and one is a place where only the wol can go... another is planet broken a part and finally a garlemeld in ruins that you can't use ofr much either... but probably a bit better main story.
