They should have said, "I quit because the game is too simple and jobs are unfun," instead of, "I quit because of Viper." Since they didn't, the argument of "I quit because of Viper" seems absurd to me.

Ever heard of the straw that broke the camel's back?

We were promised better job design in 8.0, but 7.0 has done nothing but triple down on simplification and when people were having fun with a job, they took the opportunity to say "No, stop that". I don't understand how anyone can have faith in the dev team at this point.

Saying you quit because the game is simple and JOBS are unfun is essentially the same thing as saying you quit because of viper (a job). It's just more specific as to what bugs them.

even if not i kinda understand peoples anger. Geez i had to struggle every expansion with ast reworks since SE dont know where they wanne put this class. So people did a month of full training and preparation and trying to be good with a class and then they decide to take away from that something which look minor but is a part of what they liked then i can see why so many are angry. And yeah like Reinha said it might be last drop. Sadly DT evolves into a shadowlands direction so many seem to hate it and the changes which happen :/ i also learned a bit of Viper but i am not best on it. I think its a fun class and while playing i never thought geez hopefully the remove anything from this job

This situation isn’t quite the same. The Viper change was announced very early, like within a week of launch. Anyone who continued to play knew these changes were coming early in Viper's lifespan. While the community might act as if Viper's identity was established at launch, it’s clear that SE had a different view. The changes to Viper aren’t comparable to the complete overhauls seen with AST or SMN, where entire jobs were revamped. Like I said before, it was better for SE to do this early than let the job sit for months before making such changes.

If Viper was your breaking point, then it sounds to me like there's more festering in your mind than just Viper that isn't being brought up. But since Viper was the only thing mentioned, that's the focus of the topic.

And this was happening with or without Viper. People were already saying that Viper was to braindead even before the changes. There's really just nothing else to say here.

Here's hoping SE hears some of our feedback but sadly, they don't seem to care much about English feedback.

That's a lie, they did not announce they were removing NG. We did not know which skills were being changed and in what way because the dev team was intentionally vague about it and didn't mind blindsiding players as usual. The only thing they specified were positional changes which ended up not even happening.

Newly released in Patch 7.0, we’ve received feedback pertaining to the busyness of their skill rotation. To that end, we’re planning several improvements, including the easing of directional requirements, and changes to the effects of several actions. We’re aiming to implement these changes in Patch 7.05, though we also intend to make some smaller adjustments to the range of certain abilities in Patch 7.01. It will take a while longer, but we hope to address player concerns as best we can.

Where is the lie? Looks to me like you proved what I said correct?
I said we knew changes were coming. I didn't say we knew what changes were happening. People were making threads upon threads of "Don't change Viper" when nobody knew what was going to be changed but they knew change was coming. Sorry, but nowhere in this did I lie.


To reiterate, I’m not saying people aren’t allowed to be unhappy. Feedback is great. However, claiming you quit because of Viper is an argument I just can’t take seriously.

You entered this thread saying your ok with people providing feedback. Saying you're quitting due to the viper changes is feedback.
Then you say op should have said it's a job simplification issue. As stated before, viper is a job.
Now you say the jobs are the same as in EW so why not just go back to a previous job? That's part of the complaint here.

It really doesn't sound like you're ok with feedback unless it's one you agree with.
