Gordias was a gear checkOh, it filtered quite a few people, which makes me sad that we didn't keep that level of difficulty. We were literally asking for a "Savage" difficulty, and SE delivered. I know my static enjoyed slamming into the Pepsi Man wall, with Hands of Pain. Shame it got neutered because people couldn't accept that the mode called "Savage" required skill.
100% shitty design
I looked into some streams for the world first. All of them used keyboard-macros for their dmgroation. Kind of funny when someone dies, lift his hands and the marcro still trys to blow through the skills. Just to point out the most obvious usage.^^
It took them to enrage, it took them over 80min, it took them many attempts, and it took them 4+min longer than a normal party could, and it required near perfect play from everyone on the party. You act like this is something just anyone can go and do, and like its better than having a healer, and it's not. Please fox news stay in your lane.
Honestly, the game could make your PC breathe fire on your balls while you prog, people would still speedrun new content within the day. Pretty sure it happens in most modern games like this.
I'm more concerned about people clearing high level content without healers...
My understanding is that as fight design doesn't change that much over the years, the world racers are just getting better and better at anticipating what is going to happen. I've watched a bit of streaming here and there, and it was impressive how fast they could read through mechanics for the first time by just "guessing" what would happen (basically 2 player stack, light party stack or spread after a ground AOE)
To be fair I think overall people want things to go back to Stromblood difficultly not Gordias. From what I rather many felt Stromblood raids struck a fair balance.
Filtered? It WREAKED the raiding scene.Oh, it filtered quite a few people, which makes me sad that we didn't keep that level of difficulty. Yeah because the developers have completely given up on creating something more than spread/stack pairs/light party protean out/in zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzMy understanding is that as fight design doesn't change that much over the years, the world racers are just getting better and better at anticipating what is going to happen. This Savage tier is incredibly based, because it feels like the right amount of difficulty without feeling frustrating. It reminds me a lot of Omega when it was relevant content.
I think people complaining that it is too easy should idk, maybe get a life or something? Lol?
You don't need to poopsock savage unless you're a world first raider (which you aren't) and most importantly, I have found this tier of savage is actually PF and DF friendly! Isn't that crazy! People aren't required to go seek out a static! I think that's wonderful.
I dunno what revisionist history or alternate dimension you came from but Gordias was 100% a gear-check and the general playerbase was so mad about it that every single tier of Alexander afterward did not have that issue.
Reminder that Gordias was the team's first foray into their new design philosophy when it came to savage content. In ARR, the base raids were difficult and savage was ENTIRELY for bragging rights. (OG Melusine Maulers WW@?)
Gordias was the first step in the philosophy of "normal raid accessible, savage raid hardcore" and they kinda fucked it up at the start. Tier 2 and 3 Alex are widely regarded as the gold standard of savage content (Tier 2 mostly for Brute Justice though and Tier 3 mostly for Cruise Chaser and Alex Prime)

I guess for you everything is incredibly based when it can be cleared with two neurons. Oh sorry, not two neurons. One neuron and one half-dead neuron starving of sodium and potassium. This Savage tier is incredibly based, because it feels like the right amount of difficulty without feeling frustrating. It reminds me a lot of Omega when it was relevant content.
