Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't care about these clear races. Do they have any impact on the game at all? Does clearing this savage tier in 9 hours actually mean anything?

It just means the game is becoming more and more esport-y if anything. That's about it. This can play into how SE decides to design such fights and the job balances that encompass that.

Doubt it, because those people who clear all 4 fights on week is a tiny fraction of the people playing Savages. If the game tunes the encounters to cater directly to those people, it will suddenly become too much for the rest of that audience.

The only thing that I would add is that I am surprised that the gear cycle was essentially proven near irrelevant by this. People seem to forget you can only reintroduce so many variants of existing boss mechanics.

But that's including second and third tiers of raid sets, which isn't a fair comparison.

I'd be more interested to see if this trend is the case on a larger scale than just world first groups, which we don't really have metrics for (that I know of). Everything else is anecdotal.

Scroll up. We've got PFs on 4. That's pretty damn telling that in 24 hours, even PFs are on 4, when that wouldn't even have been a world first.
