What does asking why he's naked and blue have to do with being a TERF? You could've just said he was Dionysus, jeez.Oh hey, mister not-a-terf feels the need to intervene once again. He was meant to represent Dionysus, a Greek God related to festivities amongst other things. Since you know, the Olympics were created by the Greeks over 2000 year.
I wasn't a fan of the ceremony personally and thought it was pretty poorly done, but you people are downright paranoid if you're trying to see more to it than some French people trying to be artsy (and failing, depending on your perspective).
i'm so glad that you found this tweet. i just don't understand why a voice actor can't play to their suits instead of trying to force themselves into doing something they can't. or why someone would get hired to fulfill a role that they cannot perform in. i think it's important to archive these tweets as well, i'm really shocked he hasn't gone back and scrubbed a lot of things he says because they look really bad in a professional light. lol.![]()

This I agree with, and something I also tried to convey in somewhere on the forums (this thread or the other many Wuk threads)My only response to this, is that as discussed in this thread there have been successful voice actors who have taken on roles of the opposite gender and had great performances.
I'd hate to generalize Sena's limited range to all trans actors, some of whom may have a larger range than Sena. There are also many CIS actors who have limited range and can't handle yelling or certain voice ranges.
I think range should be part of the audition process if it's needed for the role. For Wuk Lamat, which has scenes of yelling, delivering speeches from a balcony requiring a projected voice, and extreme emotional anguish - range is important and needed to be tested at the audition phase.
The issue with Sena is range and the quality of her voice for Wuk Lamat is subpar because it.
Her Wuk Lamat voice is very close to her everyday speaking range. But she’s probably not too worried about voice cracks and what not when speaking and emoting normally.
So we get a so-so to bad performance because she is trying to do multiple things at once, she’s already maintaining a pitch/range above her baseline voice, then attempting to maintain while also doing the “acting” part of voice acting, and then but on an accent on top of it.
And since there are other Men and Women VAs out there who can adjust their pitch and still sound fine. Though it’s really not that many, Ayumu Murase always comes to mind for doing good highs and lows, but is there any English speaking VA on that level and could slap on an accent too?
IMHO I’d say that I think Sena might be able to find a middle ground with a feminine voice, specifically for voice acting, if she had more training. I don’t know if more training would help with the Wuk Lamat voice specifically though if that’s the range she wants to continue to use…
Honestly? I feel like her range was fine enough and that she added a very unique emotional quality inside her performance, especially when she is joyful. There were issues with her voice performance, but I would ascribe those primarily to bad direction. Her voice predominantly false short when she has to shout or otherwise speaks loudly. In some moments, when she plays angry, it works well enough, but it feels more like her having restraints to actually shout during her performance. I feel like with better voice direction, the issue could be fixed. I feel like besides the lack of voice acted sequences, the voice acting was generally weaker this expansion even with longterm cast members, compared to older expansions. This I agree with, and something I also tried to convey in somewhere on the forums (this thread or the other many Wuk threads)

I thought the same initially tbh but, after hearing the other languages VAs and then some of Sena’s older work I felt she was missing range for this voice. Cuz her voice work in Unicorn Overlord (a masculine voice) actually sounds like it has range but for Wuk Lamat and other feminine voices it sounds flat or samey, even though they’re different characters and different settings.Honestly? Like she has the skill but she also has to figure out how to apply it to all the ranges she can access, and not just one.
Convenient how you chose to respond only to that part of my post.
Totally not showing the fact that you indeed are seeking things to get outraged over.
And how the other two are doing the exact same thing.
