After playing some ff11 last night on beastmaster I don't have high hopes it will be anything like ff11 beastmaster and just a reskinned ff14 blue mage with either a axe and shield or an axe.
That is when the true Vana'diel of legend will be reborn.
Krile hardly played an active role in the 2nd half when they heavily advertised she was going to get heavy focus in dawntrail alongside g'raha throughout the story. All we got was a few snippets of her saying things and a few small scenes with her parents and a tiny bit of her origins and that was it then she was sidelined for wuk lamat because she had to insert herself in kriles important scenes. For the first part, in the interview with Yoshi-P that you linked, he literally says they're looking to diversify jobs a bit more in "Patch 7.2 and beyond." We're in Patch 7.05 as of this morning. I don't see the "lie" yet...
For the second part, Krile definitely played an active role in the MSQ. She was part of the team the entire journey and was one of the two main "side-stories" alongside Erenville. It may not have been to the level you either wanted or had come to expect in your head, but it doesn't change that she was an active part of the story.

It's funny looking at this and then the Dawntrail official poster.
Krile has not a lot more lines than G'raha, who isn't in the poster, but Urianger and Thancred are!
"Oh but they're focusing on the candidates of the Rite!" ...yet Bakool Ja Ja also isn't there.
And after playing through the story, I kinda feel Sphene feels out of place there, too.

The Scions will be against eachother
Yoshida is the Todd Howard of Square Enix
He isn't even watching what the job design team is doing to his precious BLM anymore it seems.
Right, and she said in 6.55 we would be going to help her win a contest against several candidates, one of whom wanted to wage war. That made it... pretty clear it was all about helping her win and that we would be spending much of the expansion doing that one thing.
They also had us search a library to find out about a beast called Valigarmanda and she mentioned the contest would involve this legendary beast (beside it being in the promotional material as a boss). All of this indicated, that this contest we're helping Wuk Lamat with would be the lion's share of the expansion.
So the only thing that made it clear prior to the expansion for you was the patch content, regardless of everything that was said during the media tours, fanfests, keynotes, liveletters and interviews about Dawntrail, which we whad been anticipating way before 6.55.Right, and she said in 6.55 we would be going to help her win a contest against several candidates, one of whom wanted to wage war. That made it... pretty clear it was all about helping her win and that we would be spending much of the expansion doing that one thing.

Still, even if we just consider the patch, it made it clear that she was the motivation for us to go to Tural, yes. We could also safely assume we would be helping her with that for the first half, even...but no, it doesn't make it clear it's going to be all about her, nor that she would take the spotlight for ALL of it, especially because we also had parts of Krie finding the letter with the earring, meaning she was also interested in what was going there and was going to be involved - which also implies that she would play an important role, and that was confirmed by YoshiP saying she was going to have an active role.
Funny thing about the Valigarmanda also was that we only had to fight it because Bakool Ja Ja did a thing, but there was no way she would assume before that it would take a part on the contest.
Also, during that patch, we had that talk with G'raha about us deciding if we wanted to go or not, and we even get to answer being unsure about supporting her or not wanting to get involved in politics, which if we think more about it, wouldn't that imply that the WoL would be able to have mixed feelings about the whole thing in the beginning, or at least a more neutral stance? When we get there, however, we get absolutely no say in the matter and it's all about blindly supporting her, no questions asked.
Considering how little she was mentioned during all of the media before the expansion, the trailers, the interviews, even her size in the official poster and how quickly we meet her before the launch...I wouldn't say it was pretty clear at all.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
