I am usually neutral on my expectations but I will only say one thing:
Wuk Lamat's English VA is emotionally tone-deaf. This is how you get speeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen.

Don't forget urianger and alisaie as well. Compare japanese and english versions of those two and the difference is uncanny. Urianger over here in english sounding like a 78 year old man while in japanese he sounds like a 30/40 something year old man with deep thoughts and carefully chosen words.
I thought for sure people must have been exaggerating, but I swapped the language to English and rewatched a few scenes. Holy crap. The performance is really not up to the level the other actors are giving. I checked out a few of the other voice over languages and each of them put in a solid performance except the English VA. How did this happen?!
i feel like a part of it is inexperience, and another part is the person they hired to direct her while she recorded her lines did not do a good job coaxing decent emotion out of her causing some scenes to be flat. actually, a lot of the american VAs were a bit flat for likely the same reason. It's bad. I feel like the character was miscast. Why did an American get hired for the role when the hiring studio is based out of London and everyone we've gotten has been from the UK so far?
The accent and pronunciation varies wildly and it shows how amateurish she is in comparison to the rest of the cast. I don't want to have to listen to a mid delivery from a character we're going to be stuck with for the entire expansion.
Give us the ability to swap language for specific characters so I can listen to the superior Japanese Tomboy Wuk.
TRANSPHOBES NOT WELCOME. THIS IS A TOPIC ABOUT BAD VOICE ACTING.
Wait wait wait wait……. Didn’t you say people here have bigot views and then you say something like this ?? Good lord how can you preach morals and shoot yourself in the foot like this.
Pretty sure furry for a decent number of people is a gender like transgender. And you say something so bigot. Come on man don’t be a bigot and don’t have these views man.
It’s funny how fast you can flip this argument you gave us before on you now.
furries don't think of furry as a gender lol; the closest you get is Therians who believe their soul is an animal's/their fursona. they're considered weird and fringe in that community too. please dont fake virtue signal or try to equate being a furry eith being lgbtWait wait wait wait……. Didn’t you say people here have bigot views and then you say something like this ?? Good lord how can you preach morals and shoot yourself in the foot like this.

I find it downright appalling this thread is filled to the brim with transphobic comments. Anyone misgendering her on purpose is hateful and your behavior is abhorrent. Were you to meet her in real life, you would have no idea she is trans and you would call her "she." Going out of your way to do something you know brings pain to another is beyond pathetic. Those are the sort of things you would see children do at school, picking on someone by purposefully using vocabulary to hurt them. Yet - presumably - you are not children, you are adults. Start acting like it.
You may not remember it because you're so caught up in your nonsensical "culture war," but trans people are human beings with feelings, emotions, dreams and aspirations like everyone else. I don't know what kick it gives you to be needlessly cruel towards someone you've never seen and will likely never see, what purposes it serves for you to act with cruelty and malevolence towards a minority of people that doesn't bother you and only wants to live their lives happily. But if you do that, you are no different from the people who once demonized homosexual people - and those who demonized countless minorities throughout history - simply because they needed a scapegoat to hate and attack.
If you have criticisms about Wuk Lamat's voice acting, say them. But no matter how fair the criticism against the VA's voice acting is, nothing warrants such a deluge of hatred and cruelty. People who call her "she" don't do it because they feel obligated to. In fact, no laws force you to do that. We call her "she" because this is simply what decent human beings who shows decency towards other human beings do.
The problem is that even non transphobic critics are being labelled transphobic. A lot of critics against only the voice have being called bigots and istophobes. Both sides aren’t better and both sides should not have a holier than thou attitude when all people can have shitty and insensitive takes sometimes. Like one person calling out bigot behaviour and then saying cause some one is a furry he has no good opinion like ufff. People these days are in the most fragile mental stay they have ever been. And like I said they are a lot of comments being idiots and sad transphobic takes but also a lot of defender smearing valid criticisms as people being bigots and transphobic.I'll say this one more time and as clear as I can.
I don't think Sena Bryer did a great job as Wuk. I'm not sure if it was due to her ability as a voice actress, or due to her trying to sound more feminine combined with an accent (she's admitted the difficulties of that herself), or if more of the blame falls on the writing and voice director, but at best, I think Wuk's voice acting was very average.
I also think that Sena Bryer is a human, and my belief system tells me to try to love and understand everyone, especially those that are minorities and have more struggles than most. That is why I call out the obviously hate filled comments that are purposely using "HIM" just to belittle Sena.
The vast majority of people calling out transphobic comments in this thread are singling out outright hate comments. I've seen only one poster that was seemingly taking any criticism at all towards Sena's voice acting as transphobic, and they were rightly called out on it.
Again, calling out the voice acting is one thing. Mixing transphobic comments just muddies the water and makes it impossible to have an actual discussion about the issues with Wuk's character.
And I have nothing against this person but after reading the bad takes on twitter (the hypocrisy is massive) makes me understand people that write in bad faith. You reap what you sow as they say
After reading some sites it’s called furrygender and it’s a Xenogender as they call it. So you could say some people say it’s a gender.
