Please don't put Wuk Lamat in the patches

I like Wuk Lamat. I began the expansion intrigued by a character I perceived as refreshing, even if a little tropey. VA wasn't flawless but in XIV it never really is.

Then I had to speak with her 138 times. Probably more if you count the times not specifically due to a quest.

I'm sure work has already started on the patches. I'm not sure what can be done. Please do not make it 75% "Please talk to Wuk Lamat" again. Please do not write her to be so naive and omnipresent.

Again, I like Wuk Lamat. But even I have had enough.

And if you're wondering, what is the point of this? I know there are critical threads already. But those are mostly "she's bad". I'm more concerned about the future content and also wanted to offer a perspective from someone who enjoyed her character.

7.1 is probably already in the finishing lines story wise. I think she will be there, and players will go "not again". With the reception, I hope they went in crisis mode and at least had a discussion on how to tweak things to limit her presence to the minimun needed for the story. If they didn't, I feel like the public might get pissed, because a lot of players are fed up with her, and it will be like putting salt on an open wound. This whole situation might have a second act, with more visceral reaction. As I said, it's probably too late to change fundamentally 7.1 but that argument might not be enough to avoid the player going "I said I had had enough of this, and we got the exact same thing. That's it, I'm out". The worst of this may still be ahead of us.

My guess is they're gonna be betting on the New Alliance raid to keep us placated until they readjust the story (if they decide to at all) in later patches.

We've had Krile and Graha for the EW AR, so Wuk will probably be joining us for the DT ones because exploration and dawnservant. She has to be in the 7.1-7.3 patches because of the characters present.

What we should worry about is if the writer will kill the characterization of other characters to boost Wuk's status. Like how in Tales of Zestiria, Rose was so special that the whole party called Alisha not a true friend(JP version, was changed in Global) and then the DLC had Rose attack Alisha throughout it(even though it was Alisha's DLC) and treating her badly. If this falls in the same situation, imagine having Wuk Lamat preach to us about how bad one of the characters we care about.

Imagine her telling us that Krile isn't a real friend because of her relation to endless, and then all the Scion agreeing and that we should kill Krile or something because Wuk is our real friend. Then she joins us as an official scion taking Krile's spot etc. Writer's pets are horrifying because we've seen from other games what they'll do to make their character look good.

Ok, dude, I'm not good with name nor face. I often don't remember who and who on the forum even after I quoting them multiple times.

But you, I only saw two posts from you and I already remember your face.

Please stop inducing me with WL's nightmare.

It doesn't take a lot to keep people happy. If the raids are fun, and the story is passable/comprehensible, it'll be fine. Hell, the whole Nier story was kind of a mess if you didn't know the timeline, but most people seemed to enjoy it.

Like I said in another thread, while you can certain count on most people will start forgetting or feel less strongly about the character after a few month ... the question is whether SE think it will be a good idea to reminding the players each time it started fading away. Because things just gonna flare up again whenever WL is brought back to stage light. If that's what SE has in the plan for the next 2.5 years, I think they really should start making change to that plan ... like right about now.
