Please don't put Wuk Lamat in the patches

Really dont get the Hate Lyse had back then, i didnt had any problem with her back then, as well as now. She wasnt omnipresent like Wuk is in DT, which is really the first "friendly" Npc i really despise. Only other Npc in the game i cant stand would be the guy (Varis?) from the Shadowbringer weapons questline.

My problem with Lyse was that she was a nothing character. She doesn't have a personality. She also felt incredibly shoehorned into a story that I felt like should have been about Raubahn and M'Nagoo. Wuk Lamat meanwhile is every single shonen anime trope balled into a buff catgirl. I personally very slightly prefer her to Lyse, but the bar is so low Satan is tripping over it in hell.

Yeah I started off liking her but 2 levels into the MSQ I was sick. The lack of her presence made the most (otherwise) boring zone the most enjoyable experience in the expansion. The arcadia plot is amazing, so I know the writers haven't completely fallen off. I would be happy to never see this character ever again, maybe she can be in the background once in awhile 2 expansions later like (poor) Hein seems to get treated. I'm tired of her goofy face, I'm tired of the fist clenching, I'm tired of her stupid WoL face covering axe. I'm tired of her whiny voice. I'm tired of her constantly interjecting herself in moments between me and other characters which should be private one on one talks.

90% of her dialogue is absolutely filler garbage and could be deleted from the game and you'd still get the same point across. Having to endure the worst phase 2 of a final boss everytime I get queued into it thanks to her crashing in to ruin the party is just mind numbingly frustrating. It's time for her to go bye bye. Erenville is owed a proper adventure, and Krile needs to get given much better treatment. The opening trailer promised me a grand adventure with all the characters I actually did care about, and instead it was just relegated to actually being able to only ride the boat and do the fight. While the rest was saved for the end credits.... so after the game is over, I get to see these moments happen... coooooool cool cool.

We've had Krile and Graha for the EW AR, so Wuk will probably be joining us for the DT ones because exploration and dawnservant.

Or maybe she’ll actually stay home and actually do some Dawnservanting instead of leaving Koana in charge by himself. I’d say Koana should come but I don’t know Wuk’s ruling style enough to trust we won’t come back to Tulliyolal accidentally on fire if she’s left alone without him.

My bet is Erenville will be our NPC Alliance buddy. We need more fussy bun bun time and the theme of the raid would fit well with him going off an adventure.

Even if Wuk Lamat has a fall in the shower and snaps her neck there will be still be the same bad character writing, nonsensical plot(holes) and sleep-inducing pacing. Until they sort out their writing and editing team in a MAJOR way, FF14 is on a permanent pathway for this sort of writing. Can it be done? Sure. Overnight? No chance.

I didn't know it was going to be the same team. All we can hope is that feedback results in better oversight moving forward. New talent has to be allowed to try new things, but someone should have stepped in after about 40 Speak to Wuk Lamats.

It is alarming to me that even in 7.0 there was no one who looked at the quest design and saw a problem, or at least no one high up enough to course correct.

I like Wuk Lamat. I began the expansion intrigued by a character I perceived as refreshing, even if a little tropey. VA wasn't flawless but in XIV it never really is.

Then I had to speak with her 138 times. Probably more if you count the times not specifically due to a quest.

I'm sure work has already started on the patches. I'm not sure what can be done. Please do not make it 75% "Please talk to Wuk Lamat" again. Please do not write her to be so naive and omnipresent.

Again, I like Wuk Lamat. But even I have had enough.

And if you're wondering, what is the point of this? I know there are critical threads already. But those are mostly "she's bad". I'm more concerned about the future content and also wanted to offer a perspective from someone who enjoyed her character.
