People have to work on ignoring those who bring nothing to the discussion and just want to yell. It's not an argument when arguing goes one way, while the other way is just giving back insults and name calling. Indifference is the deadliest thing you can do for someone who is desperate for attention. These people are the type of people who would defend a certain VA for SAing a minor, because he's gay, then there's Kris Tyson, whose being shielded for being trans and not dealing with the same backlash as DrDisrespect. Then there's the Yasuke crap. You should know by now how they'll act, what they support, and so on to a particular topic, no need to waste your breath or post.

More to the topic at hand. It seems the strike does affect FFXIV, but the strike could just be total bull as this is the same group that abandoned the VAs and called them "lower class" last time. I don't believe that they actually care about the VAs for games and lower anime and what not. When AI is somewhat acceptable for filmography but not gaming brings an issue to what can be done. AI is still bad for taking jobs, but it'll probably be a struggle to fight against it.



Chances are if Sena hasn't been contracted for 7.1-7.5, then Wuk's role could be reduced greatly, like how Yugiri stopped showing up after her previous VA was murdered. YoshiP does care about the non-JP VAs some what I would think. The twins VAs has said that they record lines a month in advance to the patch, so if contracts aren't set then chances are Sena won't be returning considering SAG has FFXIV down as to not support. IF there is a huge dislike of the American VA side, you could give SquareEnix the golden ticket to replace all of them with European ones.

I doubt he'll apologize for miscasting Wuk, or the bad writing, or the weird pacing, or the healer's complaints, or the graphics update issues. He'll probably apologize for having to either replace the VAs, delay the patch while waiting for VAs, or moving to AI for the VAs. That might be taken as a tacit apology for other things, but that'll be up to each individual to infer.

All of them so much more well off than most of us and they don't even have to do much work. Which was bad enough, and fine.... I suppose. Till you see how much kicking and screaming they do anytime an AI flawlessly replicates their voice. They don't even allow fans to do it for free projects that nobody is making money off of. No, you don't own your own voice. People can mimic you, there's only so many sounds the human vocal cords can make before you run into clones of the same voice too. All rights to your voice are gone the second you sign up to be cast in a role using that voice, that voice now belongs to the character not you.

Agree with everything you said except how well off SAG members are.

The majority of those in the SAG are people with day jobs hoping for a big break and were forced to join if they wanted future gigs because they spoke a few lines or appeared as an extra a few too many times. SAG has a stranglehold on pretty much every entertainment industry and of course, they don't want competition. To that end they'll actively seek to crush anyone who takes work and isn't a member. This leads to the top 5% of members getting the vast majority of the work while everyone else is clawing for the scraps.
