I have to applaud SE for removing hate speech posts and banning blatant transphobic posters, thank you for that. I think it makes this forum a bit better.

Also, more on topic. I agree that the focus is entirely too much on Wuk Lumat's VA. The writing first, and the voice acting directing as both to blame more than any single voice actor. Wuk's actress was simply given the unfortunate task of being THAT character. The Lyse if you will of DT, except even worse in a sense, because she's so much more present than Lyse was.

Also she is extremely boring, because she basically just talks about being trans. I guess people never really understood the "If you're gay and the only interesting thing about you is that you're gay, then you're boring" quote.

How about a positive comment: I applaud Square Enix for recruiting authentic Latin voices for some of the main roles, like Koana and the many other NPCs from Tural. They did a good job with the other voice actors.

I just wish they had kept that initiative with Wuk Lamat. I don't understand why they went with a fake accent for that particular character when she makes up the vast majority of the MSQ. Obviously we all support the other diversity that the actress brings to the table, but in voice acting, the way that you say things tends to matter. If you don't know how to speak an accent, it's hard to talk as though you can. Bloodline doesn't matter. I am 20% English and I speak the English language, but that doesn't mean I should be hired to talk like a British person. The actress seems to think that being 1/4th Puerto Rican by bloodline qualifies her to speak with an accent that isn't native to her.

Also, wasn't faking ethnic accents considered cancelable just a couple of years ago? What happened?

Didn't knew how bad it was until i watched a streamer doing the msq with EN VA, I thought this character was dumb and annoying despite the JP voice acting but if i had to endure the EN dub for the whole msq, i can tell you i would have skipped a lot of cut scenes
