i think they will address the situation but i doubt they will replace the writer or something drastic like that. the story is bad but not a mess, it just went from 8/10 to 5/10 rating to put it simply.

i agree with some post here, they probably going the usual corpo speech and probably some change for future story, the whole fiasco is just the story is waaay to focus on someone else instead of us and that person of focus is also happened to be non favor by majority

They won't realistically be able to make big adjustments to 7.1 through 7.4 (give or take) unless there are delays. Patch cycles are usually planned out and developed well in advance. It's just not feasible to make big changes. I work for a small/medium mobile game company that has a very fast turnaround compared to a huge company working on a complicated game like XIV and even our assets are usually at least wireframed months in advance.

I also think the first two patches at least are already done with the MSQ.
7.3 maybe. 7.4 probably not because they wanted to wait for feedback before deciding how to proceed further.

There might at maximum be a few tweaks like player dialogue choices, questtext (speak with Krile instead of Wuk Lamat to trigger a cutscene for example) or changing the camera a bit for cutscenes to focus on the WoL instead of her. At most maybe even cutting out some dialogue of Wuk for unvoiced, not CS scenes and give it to another person.
I don‘t know how easy something like those things would be.


But who knows.
Maybe the patches are a self contained thing like the void quests because they wanted to wait for feedback first and then react to it in the future.

I just can‘t or better don‘t want to believe they would brute force this whole thing further after that bad reception.

Honestly depending on what they had planned for the 7.1 - 7.2 MSQs, I'd rather they delay releasing more story to make adjustments than to keep them the way they are because of schedule. Release all the side content without an MSQ, adjust whatever's necessary to not need any major developments, and wait a few more months. The other combat is pretty good and promising as it is so I think that might work fine.

Better than to make everyone rush to change things to keep the schedule, and better than releasing 10 more Speak with 0/3 locals then Wuk Lamat quests, if that was going to be the case.

Please do not focus solely on the Japanese side of the Dawntrail production. Please consider the complaints regarding the English localization and its subpar quality. I am very disappointed with Dawntrail in English.

They are not.
It’s the same over there as it is here.
The arguments are almost the same to a T.

If anything they are far more „direct“ on some sites then we are here.

I would post examples but that is a pain on mobile.

If anything, the over-sterilization of the narrative and random virtue signally popping up here and there in DT seem to reek of Western influence. Because last time I check, authentic Japanese material tend to be ... a lot more base than this expansion.

i cant help but see SE doing another experiment with DT for western audience because the whole thing is just scream "strong woman leader" for me, wuk lamat literally rey skywalker (or naruto in jp term because she get by almost everything just by talking)

they definitely take some for western audience but definitely not from this western audience

i dont know what are they smoking over there but iam glad the JP also mad about it, if anything i knew about JP community is they are more direct when it come to complain and criticism which is what the game needed right now
