I don't understand how people can complain about a graphical update that was announced as incomplete, as it will continue through patches 7.x-8.x, etc. Moreover, they already made it clear from the start what to expect.

Since its complete overhaul, FF14 has been a game from 2013, so the graphics engine dates back to 2013.

They have already explained sufficiently that they couldn't drastically increase the number of polygons, thus they are at the maximum capacity of the engine.

Therefore, we shouldn't have expected more than an HD texture pack and some new weather effects,
however, the new anti-aliasing is nice, and I disagree with you even if the difference isn't colossal for the obvious reasons I've already mentioned.

The work is still evident and far from finished.

During the second fanfest, they explained that it would take a lot of time to finalize everything and that Final Fantasy 14 is a game that will continue to be refined as long as it exists.

Except you’re not a developer working on a game that has accumulated 11 years of assets and issues, and it was simply impossible for them to do it all at once.
Therefore, they preferred to adapt the expansion as it is and mostly rework the older content afterward, and they will continue to do so later.
Why is it a problem if it’s easier for them?

What we have gotten so far is very disappointing. Even more so when you consider they delayed the expansion half a year for this.

I kept my expectations in check, it's still just a PS4 (and now Xbox) game after all but oh boy, my game legitimately looked better pre Yawntrail when I was still using ReShade.
