Maybe if (JP) Miqo'te players complain loudly and often enough, CBU3 will actually be forced to properly model gear in this game instead of making the Hyur model and not even bothering to tick a single metadata option that allows for gear to be displayed on other races.
But they'll probably be able to dodge it this expansion since all the criticism is focused on the writing team instead of the modeling team.

It's so frustrating for exactly the reason you said-- this is one checkbox on the gear to show or hide tails, so it's not really a question of time, resources, or talent. It's a deliberate decision the devs made with this gearset, but I just don't agree with it. If they personally felt "It looks weird to have one unarmored part of the character" or something, then how come the helmet shows my Au Ra's horns?

Edit: And E4EO, I left GW2 after huge frustration with how unsatisfactory the writing was/management decisions that irritated me and swore I'd never go back. But I admit. I miss so much about that game's visual quality and design ethos. (Up until dawntrail, GW2 environments felt ten years ahead of FFXIV-- and when it comes to things like glam QoL, character customization, armor and hairstyles I feel that gap is still there.)
