No I *am* having fun on my lancer (cuz of primals and stuff), but im not having fun on arc lol. And most of my ls have all (or most) of their jobs at 50. I was being lazy and crafting while they were exchanging PL's in preparation for 1.20 lol. I figured I didn't need another max job anyway, cuz I was having plenty of fun on DRG doing stuff. Buuuut current content is not kind to DRG, and potential parties are even unkinder. Plus a lot of times when ls needs a group for dungeon, they need a support spot and not a pure dps spot (pure dps are easy to find). This means I can't go, which means im of no help at the moment lol. Trying to level a support job (bard) so I can be more helpful and flexible. But that is absolute pain for the reasons I just described lol. Arc is really low right now though, like level 8, so im hoping by level 20 or so I can find someone to duo some leves with. Course I tried to link leves with someone once and we didnt have a single leve in common. Poor design strikes again lol.

Anyway I think what I liked about XI was that the party combat felt much more involved. So while it was a slow painful grind, every fight was like a mini-boss, and felt much more cooperative. I enjoyed that a lot, the only thing i hated was delevelling but even that added to the experience.

I admire you for not giving up, but I just can't be that patient lol! But sticking to your beliefs is always a good thing, even if the current setup may make that very difficult. As for myself, I've always loved doing bosses and tough mobs with a bunch of people. Thats why grinding in FFXI was still rewarding for me, because it met my criteria for fun in an MMO. Thats also why I have fun on my LNC even tho I got PLed, because at lvl 50 my criteria for fun can be fulfilled by primals or dungeons. Arc is massive pain simply because of the leve spam, but also because I don't find partying for mob grind particularly rewarding. I've had some rare moments, like my first xp party at 40, but in most cases its about as dull as doing it by myself. I just wish there was better content inbetween 1 and 50.
