SE kind of nurtures negativity anyway. They hold subs hostage with housing. Problems with folks cheesing the duty finders? Add punishments to the undesired behavior, not rewards for the desired behavior (or design it so it wasn't possible in the first place ala random dungeons being actually random). Players are doing too much damage in trust dungeons? We want them to be as slow as possible, the better you perform the worse your companions perform. Players like holding onto lots of items? Yea, let's charge 2 extra bucks a pop for a storage chest.
SE chooses the most antagonistic path against the players possible at every chance, so I have no sympathy for when they are rightly criticized and some of that criticism trends negative.
If they start treating the playerbase as adult human beings that enjoy this as their hobby instead of just dollar signs, they will get a lot more goodwill from everyone.
In all seriousness tho calling the XIV dev team antagonistic (the dev team not SE, SE sucks but still better than EA and such) feels like a stretch when they're trying to cater to all players and not just you specifically
