There is no good reason to make people wait 8+ months to buy the mount with totems. That should be available immediately.

I was shocked to discover today that my 99 totems can't even buy me the mount. I've completely wasted my time. Is this real, I now need to sit on these totems for 8 months?
Granted, I should've checked before even starting the grind if I could buy it but, 1) I've managed to always live in the part of the expansion's life cycle where they were already available to buy, I couldn't even imagine this scenario and 2) I had hope until the very last 99th totem that I'd get the drop.
And btw, 99 times, dropped 3 times.

A terrible idea will still remain a terrible idea whether it was done once or a thousand times. The drop rates I can maybe understand, but the insane time gating for people who slogged through the fight 99 times? An unnecessary slap to the face.

yes this is ccopletely norrmal, they arnt buyable till the next one releass, its ALWAYS been like this

Just because it's 'always' that artificially scarced does not mean that this is good.
Often they talk about respecting the player's time. And then they make such low droprates and make people farm 99 totems and wait a long time.
Droprates should be minimum 33%. Would be still timeconsuming enough.

This I agree with. At least let ppl be able to buy the mount right away or the following mid patch. But to have to wait for so long is silly..
