No. If you don't want to grind it out, don't grind it out. The problem here is people thinking that they need to obtain every item in the game, not the drop rate. An MMO needs at least a few flashy things that are very hard, time consuming or require luck to get. We don't need to get rid of the few that remain in XIV.

99 totems over the course of the next 8 months or so, until they become available to buy with totems really isn't that much. It's 1 clear every 2-3 days. If you want the mount but don't want to farm out a drop or the totems, wait until the drop rates are buffed and you can do it unsynced later.
