Let them pull the same trick they did for salvaging Stormblood back then, but fish Asahi out of the Aetherial Sea and give him a redemption arc. I may be joking, but I'm almost certain I'd unironically enjoy that more than pretty much anything that's actually in the works.
Asahi is dead, like, dead as hell dead, unless the next expansion makes us adventure into the abyss or Aetherial sea to refight our villains. Honestly, that does sound kinda cool, to interact with the villains we have slain in the past, seeing them and talking to them again.
