The dev team literally goes out of the way to show the most important repeated mechanics of any (dungeon) boss and its variation in the first few seconds of the fight then it goes and mixes them, its not that difficult it just requires that you are paying attention to what you are doing
I think a good chunk of it may be that people are used to going off the orange telegraphs and genuinely don't know they need to watch their surroundings. I did EX1 last night and a healer kept dying because they didn't realise they needed to look where the boss was moving. When pointed out, there were no more problems with the mechanic.

That being said, I'm completely fine with Trust dungeons being made easier if that's what some people need. I don't agree with the baseline dungeon difficulty being lowered at all, however. The jump in difficulty from Normal to Extreme is already fairly big, we don't need that gap to widen any more. While there are a few duties I would love to never see again, I have a feeling implementing that feature would just cause some particularly unpopular ones being nigh impossible to queue into for people who need them (hi Chrysalis, Crystal Tower raids, Nier raids, etc.).
