Dawntrail is the first expansion where I started skipping cutscenes. The story is bad

I started skipping cutscenes in the last area of the game, I dont know, killing kids just aint doing it for me, I know, I'm weird that way.

I know what you mean, the game force you to accept the fact that there is no other way, telling you that these people are not alive. Yet for the all last part of the story you interact with them and treat them as they were alive, this entire part is so ambiguous that you can consider it either just an AI wipe, as well as a genocide, and we all doing this without even think about it too much. After all Cahciua told us there is no other way, so that's fine, right? But then, even her could be just an AI , or was she still alive? Who knows, in doubt we wipe all of them anyway.

The thing is we KNOW there is another way, Otis is living proof of that, it uses a 2000 year old model to sustain it's soul, you're telling me they cant create the same or even a better model now and move all of the endless into them? sure they will no longer be endless but they will keep living how many years they have left.
The story is just lazy and writers wanted to shove their agenda up our back side.

It would be more honest if they forced us to create a new character for this ‘brand new adventure’, where there at least could be an excuse why no prior knowledge is used to solve the Endless problem and our character is dumb and invisible. But eating the cake and having it is very strong here.

They must know that making people make a new WoL would go down like a sack of bricks. So it's crazy to me that they basically did it anyways by forcing our character to be a Wuk Lover (they give us options to approve of/deny literal villains so why do we have to worship her and call her Llama Tea) and then hitting them with the stupid stick to the point you wonder if they were even conscious during the previous expansions.

are you for real? Getting all whiny and upset because you aren't the center of attention 24/7? You know the character we are is supposed be mentoring others, right? We have been to the edge of the universe and back, we are taking a goddamn step back and fostering the souls of others. Everyone around could tell we shouldn't be messed with. Constantly making comments about how scary we are even if they don't know us.
If that makes you want to quit playing then bye bye. No one will miss you. You've honestly missed the point of the story from the very beginning of the game.

I've put together some responses we as Wol give, and I'd like your opinion. Do these sound like the advice of a mentor, what many people use as an argument about our role, or do they come off as overly flattering and insincere? Like something a massive simp would say whenever Wuk is around?

I'm curious what everyone thinks.

I finished the MSQ on my PLD and also finished the lv100 dungeons. I've been playing since ARR and I have to say, Dawntrail is the worst expansion. For the first time ever I've completely skipped cutscenes because I do not care whatsoever about any of these characters. I reached my level of patience with Wuk Lamat by the third zone and basically didn't start watching cutscenes again until the big story twist around lv 95. Even this part I have to say is not really that interesting to me. Most of the story is just plain boring.

Non-voice over content, I always skipped. I usually will watch the voice over scenes. Many of those cut scenes in DT i skipped, either I was bored, annoyed, etc. its bad when I sleep through VO cut scenes and not even tired.

What in the blazes were the writers, and the one who ultimately signed off on this, thinking?!

I mean, we are the Protagonist of the story, like we're supposed to be the center of attention for the vast majority of an xpac. It just basic good story telling that the story and plot advance by the action and reaction of the protagonist. In DT we're just a cameraman for Wuk.

Also we're not mentor, we're chearleader with those horrible dialogue options. Like imagine for a second if after the crystal braves betrayed us we would just turn to Alphinaud and go ''You're amazing Alphinaud, you'll get it next time!''.

I thought it was interesting they both integrated the idea of the Iifa Tree and name-dropped it directly when you were talking to the (Millala I guess he'd be) from Conde Petie.
