Dawntrail First Expansion to Bore Me in Under 2 Weeks

I started playing in stormblood,

shadowbringers was refreshing with amazing story + job changes was so huge,
endwalker was for me starting to raiding + crafting
dawntrail nothing latterly nothing interesting to me

I am engaged with leveling stuff and making gil, doing fates.
But I'll admit this time feels extremely hollow, I'm not invested in any zone or character or plot point we may have in the future. You may be confusing boredom with lack of engagement and investment.

Honestly, this is the pre-catch-up part of the game. At this point you get what classes you want to play to 100, or all of them, you focus on doing content you missed out on, doing all the FATEs, getting non-combat classes up, and then honestly, 7.05 is where the expansion really begins, when there is a bit more content.

This is how I've always looked at it.

Bar the polarizing story, it's the same as every other expansion.

Edit: As for recommendations, maybe look at Bozja or Eureka content, get those done up, maybe look at doing Baldesion Arsenal and Delubrum Reginae, or maybe try doing deep dungeons solo.

I never got bored this quickly before.. but I will be back after next patch to see if this can get me back on track

Same. It's what happens when there's barely any changes to jobs. Why would I waste time grinding to 100 when they play exactly the same at 90? Or in case of RPR, level 100 being a downgrade to 90?

IIRC RDM has a stretch of 10 levels where it's a DPS loss to interact with its procs, so you just cast more Jolts from 84 to 94. I can only call most job changes quarterhearted, because halfhearted would be too generous.

Well..there are thousands of awesome games out there. ESO, SWTOR, WoW, FFXI, GW2 might scratch that mmo itch if you want something similar.

I have just stopped playing Dawntrail. I left it somewhere in Solution 9 a week ago after seeing to the ill child. I think under circumstances of even a midling story, Solution 9 would have enraptured me and hooked me in to keep playing to the end. I can't even enjoy that. Wuk Lamat will probably go down as my most despised FF character in history. She has utterly tainted the legacy of FFXIV. I'm being dramatic about it, but my story MMO has been sorta ruined, and when your honeymoon is ruined in the honeymoon phase, you get to be a little dramatic about it.

That's valid criticism and a fair reason to quit. Don't let those "It's a low stakes story!" apologists tell you otherwise.

Agreed.
While I am not bored yet with the game and look forward to the raids and other content the story really left a mark on me.
It's like it drained my motivation for this game.
I was so dissapointed in it and so annoyed I also had trouble playing so I get you and OP tbh.

I found stuff to do like farming the first extreme or leveling miner but... I don't know. In the expansions before that I sunk my teeth at every lore candy I could find. This time I just want to do anything but stuff that has to do with the stroy.

I think if you didn't like the story but that is actually the main reason for playing it's the worst case scenario for the game right now.

Right now I have fun trying to master Pictomancer and getting back to tanking. I also finally go about my island sanctuary and level my gathering jobs.

I never been invested on other MMOs before.. I am a monster hunter world player..

I heard from my friend that FFXIV is MHW but with magic and story so I was sold and it was that until Dawntrail

If you like Monster hunter I can recommend God Eater to you.
Genshin and Honkai Star Rail are also nice games to pick up.
