I was pretty flattered, though I was also imagining how cool it would be if the WoL accepted and became a general commanding a Final Fantasy army and maybe did some base building like the garisson in WoD.I think what finally killed the MSQ for me is when Koana told us Wookie Doormat wanted us to stay with her while she ruled. I felt physically ill as soon as that voice line finished. I was begging for an option to say NO during the conversation after that with Wookie Doormat. I'm not her acquaintance, friend, colleague, hired muscle, mentor, or errand girl. I did what her dad asked me to do, now leave me the fuck alone.
The question itself was fine tbh. We always knew it would not lead anywhere anyway.
Am I the only one who would have liked more rpg dialogue choices here though? Like:
„Thanks I would love to but I am an adventurer first and foremost.“
„No I don‘t want to be part of politics“
Both have the same outcome but give more freedom to the player.
I still regard Ishgard as my true home and would like the option to say that more often.
I even have friends who are sort of forcing themselves through it, and normally one of them enjoys the MSQ like I do. For the first time since Stormblood, they've straight up had enough. Partly due to Wuk Lamat, sure, but mostly because everything else about the story is a bore.So I just finished DT, and I'm kind of at a loss for words. I got early access too, and it took me this long to power through it. I had to go to these forums to see that I'm not crazy.
I'm torn between writing a huge essay about everything that made no sense or annoyed me, or just sitting in silence and whispering "wtf" over and over. I just can't believe what I just had to force myself through. I never skip cutscenes, and the last time I felt vaguely annoyed like this was during Stormblood. Even ARR was tolerable, and I played it before the purge. This was... something else. The whole thing was a slog. Was it ai generated?
I don't even know what to say. How is it even possible to got from ShB and even EW to... this??? Like I know every expac has its problems, but I usually power through it, ez, because the story makes up for it.
The part at the very end when Wuk inserts herself, yet again, even physically blocking WoL from sight when talking to Speeeen, that made me actually laugh out loud. And then it was followed by that Disney song. Perfect way to end it. The whole thing was absurd. Idk anymore.
Dattebayo, as Wuk Lamat would probably say.
The choices were, lackluster. They all need additional options:

I really would've liked a "..." there complete with that dubious head tilt. But I guess our WoLs all must fellate her instead.
Even when we do get a "..." choice (when she asks you to call her Llama Tea), Alisaie immediately jumps in to fix it to "ohh they're speechless because they like you so much!" or something.
Even when we get the dubious choice, the dialogue never commits to it.
Remember when we get to the moblin pot village?
"I could use a nap."
"they meant to say they're helping!"
"Thank you for volunteering!!!"
...I didn't.
I'm sorry but I have to derail a little and say...
This is the 3rd lala I've seen, me included, who compare Wut Lmao to Poochie... it's becoming a pattern and I don't know what to think about it other than the fact that I love it.
It's a very apt comparison; a new character shows up who's entire schtick is that they're in your face, derails the plot, steals the spotlight from the main cast, and when they're not on screen for once, it's only a matter of time before someone asks "where's Wuk Lamat?"
I can't think of a worse character in the history of Final Fantasy.
