i7-10750H and RTX 2060. Running mostly low to medium settings at 1080p, just aiming for 60 fps.
Certain spots in the new zones completely tank my fps just by panning the camera over them. Some boss attacks also noticeably tank the framerate (2nd to last new trial notably). No crashing (thankfully) or issues in old zones.
Turning off shadow cascading fixes the fps tanking in the new zones, but now they obviously look pretty awful. Not the most elegant solution. The new shadows seem especially jank. Boss attacks still murder the framerate though.
Same issue for me too. Game sometimes dips down 15-20 FPS, which is no big deal but its that damn millisecond freeze/stutter that's driving me bonkers. I set a FPS cap to 140 and that made it better about 90% of the time, although I haven't hit the second hub city yet. No issues in frontlines though. Seem to notice a correlation between hunt trains flying over my head and it happening lol.

Also, it seems like Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator is perma-unavailable as well as it needs to be "connected to the computer" but I have no idea what that is...kinda thinking I shouldn't have to mess with this given game was 100% fine before expac and benchmark had zero issues/exceptional rating...somethings up methinks.

nvidia 3060M
amd ryzen 5 5600h

struggling with random drop to 25 fps from 60 fps.
tried to rollback to a previous nvidia update and it fixed a bit but still it's nearly unplayable in certain zones.
amd ryzen 7 2700x
16gb ram
nvidia gtx 1060
high on benchmark with no problems before early access
ive gone through this thread and tried everything ive read, with no noticeable improvement
random stutter with loading in/interacting with npcs, but its mostly that im getting bad lag in battle (dungeons/raids/trials in particular) - buttons pressed wont register as pressed for multiple seconds/similarly lag in skills proccing, and npcs/enemies/aoes are freezing and taking seconds to resume, giving me little to no time to react
i came here after trying to run the level 95 dungeon with npcs, and after dying eight times because i couldnt properly fight the final boss with the amount of lag i was having, i quit out of frustration
Hard to say for sure, but this sounds like a connection issue. Most likely a packet loss, but could also simply be latency. Sometimes even the servers can be weird and route you through a laggy "gate". Have you tried checking your ping to google and maybe even FFXIV sites?amd ryzen 7 2700x

same here, tried DDU, changing NCP settings, ingame graphic settings, MSI undervolting, disabled browser hardware acceleration, disabled Microsoft device association root enumerator, disabling nvidia audio, disabling generic monitors,. windowed, full screen mode and even borderless windows, my PC is a week old and still can't play without fps lags... thought at first it would be connected to twitch and youtube but it is on any other program next to ff14 aswell, other games are not affected by this annoying fps lag

sidenote: the GPU 3D is spiking, just a GPU issue for FF14

The following fixed like 80% of my issues. Still getting 20 frame loss every 30-60s seconds for 1 second but it's not as bad as it was.
1. Have the game .exe set to run as administrator
2. Right click the ffxiv.exe and goto properties and check the box that says "disable full screen optimization"
3. In Nvidia GeForce, turn off the on screen overlay

Getting choppy and gameplay and losing like half my framerate after going anywhere near large player hubs, ie Solution 9, Alliance raid / frontlines. My CPU usage caps out at 20 - 30% ( I have a 24core 5900x) and my GPU usage is at 60% tops during these bad frame moments, but once I restart my system usage returns to normal, at least for a while.
AMd 5900x CPU
7900XTX 24GB
48GB 3200MHz RAM
m.2 SSD (for FFXIV)
Playing on 3440 x 1440.
RAM usage also slowly spikes over the period of play, so far the highest was 5.8GB, and knowing that XBOX has a memory fragmentation issue, I feel like it may be related to that possibly.
