Why should they have more influence on the games development though? Why aren't they treated as a single voice like the rest of us? It's very sad to me.

Because they have more influence on the game's playerbase. They speak for the portion of the playerbase that agrees with them, not just themselves. Plus in order to become a content creator you have to immerse yourself in the game, its story, its gameplay, and its systems. When playing the game becomes your job, you're going to be more outspoken, more influential, and usually more detailed and specific with your criticism.
