Dark knight vision was so clear..drk just suffering from lack of vision. WAR had a clear vision from the start and instead of constantly reworking they just built upon, and tweaked things to stay within that. DRK on the other hand has about as much reworks as SMN. Idk how they did it but they made a 3-part combo in delirium feel less impactful than WAR FC spam. There's something to the direction of DRK and I don't like it. I think this perfectly summarize the duality of DRK players;
3.0-4.0 DRK = Berserk 1998
5.0-6.0 DRK = Berserk 2016
I would say DRK in DT is like berserk but they removed plunge. If only they could make enhanced unmend proc plunge so you have a damaging gap closer after using a ranged attack but sadly I don't think such a thing can be implemented in game.
A tank that consume his own health to do damage..
I have made this point clear DRK should have the highest damage tank.. the job should be hard to master it is the opposite of paladin which should be easier to play

If I could only change one thing, it would be to increase MP gained during Scarlet Delirium- the lack of MP gain we have right now feels awful. If this was done to reduce APM I think the devs have a wildly off idea of why people enjoy playing DRK- I want to double weave more, not less. Leave PLD and WAR for people who want less buttons.
1: Reverse the MP regen nerf. I don't care how, but currently we regen less MP than we did before, the end. This is the one tank class that did not need a nerf, and yet we got one.
2: Give us plunge back, the people who couldn't figure out how to hold one back for gap closing or fit it in a rotation can continue just not using it as anything other than a gap closer. The rest of us who know how to play the class can have a good ability back and not be forced to unmend on pulls or pray our party doesn't spam abilities thinking we have aggro on charge now. Because without plunge, we don't.
3: Please, please, (I am begging you) stop making our artifact weapons and armor sets look like garbage. What about dark knight suggests robe wearer who likes furry bracelets? Why is our helmet literally the same helmet over and over and over just with very slight tweaks? Why is our sword always so wide and so flat you could serve a dinner buffet on it? We legitimately have not had a good weapon or armor set since heavensward. Meanwhile every expansion every other tank set gets better, or at the worst, remains great.


dmg is irrelevant because potency can always be adjusted in a hotfix. Design is something that is intrinsic and cannot be changed drastically outside of new expansions or serious player fall off in job popularity i.e. what happened to PLD in 3.0. If they cannot get design right, then they balance it with big dmg buffs so ppl can "justify" it, hence DRK and GNB.



the blood weapon effect does need another 400-600 MP attached to it,also diasteem should also gain some MP and honestly needs to be a way stronger in potency too or tack it onto delirium instead of living shadow,
pretty much all the tank big finisher moves are way more frequent and also do more damage.

If DRK players have to wait until 8.0 for them to even think about fixing the job, may the 12 be with them cause the job feels so bad right now that it feels like they didn't even play test the job or even think about the problems the changes they made would cause.
Wall to wall pulls feel worst and their performance in EX Trials just feel awful. They feel so slow compared to WAR which was designed to be simple and slow, which is a far cry to how it used to be with a high APM.
The new and pretty animations does nothing for me if the job itself feels bad to play. Its like having an amazing looking car but the engine and internals are old and rusted.
It's clear that the devs don't give a crap about DRK. "Enchancing Unmend" surviving without any significant adjustments after the removal of "Plunge" is offensive, and don't even get me started on how bland the rest of its kit is. The job that already felt pretty miserable to play (outside of burst windows) is even worse now with the nerf to mana gains. That's it, I'm finally dropping my favorite job that I used to play for years. I tolerated their neglect in EW, but I'm not doing it for another expansion. No point in playing a job that is baddass in lore, but pathetic in gameplay. They proved over and over that they don't have the capacity to at least adjust DRK in a reasonable way. And I'm supposed to wait 2 more years to see if they will finally get real and fix the glaring issues the job has? What a joke.
I'm okay with one job out of each role being the "simple" job, but it doesn't even feel like a complete job right now. DRK right now feels like the lvl 50 kit out of a lvl 100 job to me. It's not even about the number of buttons. It's that it feels mindless and like it doesn't gel together in an interesting way.

This is what I really hope for.Hello Yoshida, please increase the damage of Dark Knight compared to Warrior. Warrior has more defenses, better recovery and a stronger invulnerability ( happens more often ). This damage difference shouldn't be more than 3-4% but it should be there. Some actions like the Torcleaver combo and Disesteem do not hit hard enough compared to their visual effect. The melee mastery trait does not increase the damage of Quietus , Carve and Spit or Edge of Shadow, while the GNB trait increases literally everything to an absurd point.
Honestly, I'd rather see Disesteem and ToreCleaver enhanced to 1000-1200 in potency than Living Shadow enhanced.

While I understand that the dev team is trying their best to improve playstyles for the everyday person. The changes made to DRK were not in the best interest. Blood Weapon and Delirium being a single button helps with button bloat however now reduces the MP generation we had originally we lost out on 2 GCD's worth of MP from the change. On top of that with the changes to the gap closer we've lost out on an identifying job feature. With all the enmity and woes as well. Still why just change DRK and GNB and leave WAR and PLD alone. It makes no sense to me.
I may be in the minority here but those changes to MP generation and Shadowstride were reversed back to 5 stacks for blood weapon and getting plunge back the job would feel a bit better.
