Nobody is praising the same boring dungeon designs we've had for years. I was very specific to point out the DUNGEONS.

This is straight up false. People are praising the dungeons specifically as well for being a little harder and more mechanically involved than EW

Your precious Viper is already on the chopping block, because a slight amount of skill required was detected by the dev team.

And I'm here for the same reason that everyone else here is. Because we enjoyed the game, and don't see the reason to quit it because this expansion just happens to be a meth dumpster fire.

Speaking of failure, I thought you were going to go away. Did you just fail at that? And what toppings? They're talking about taking away the only thing that makes it more engaging than sleeping. And sure, we don't "know about it yet", but we've been doing this song and dance for a decade. We know the stupid crap SE decides is a good idea.

Chances are we probably would since we share a common interest in this game, and I hardly know any people IRL that play 14. I don't think they actually hate XIV as much as they say they do because otherwise they wouldn't be here. It can be hard engaging with people constructively on this forum because it is meant to be a place where active players share opinions but when you encounter those who reject everything about the game and the devs as a unilateral "bad" it's like talking to a brick wall. "The devs will always let us down, jobs are all dead, the game hasn't been good since HW" etc. These types of hardline stances tend to draw reactions from people like myself who have things they criticize about the game but aren't willing to reject it entirely, so of course I end up defending the game as someone who still overall enjoys the game. I will try not to jump into these rhetorical black holes going forward. Thank you for the outside perspective to snap me back to reality.

Truer words have never been spoken. Writing medium in general just makes snark ooze right out of me. When I speak to people irl, I'm a completely normal person, I swear it.

I suppose that's normal though. When we have all the time in the world to read something, think of a response, write it, rewrite it... Too much time to overthink. Too much time for emotions to stew. In a normal conversation you move on so much faster. And come on, we're arguing about what... one little expansion for one single video game... about reviews for that expansion even. Such a small, inconsequential thing in the grand scheme of things. Wouldn't waste even 5 minutes on this irl. Here though...
