Have to agree with this, horrendous timing right after an expansion is released. The majority of folks work all week and expect game time during the weekends…they label emergency, but the Xbox issue has been an emergency for a week. They could have literally scheduled this anytime. It is what it is now, not like we’re going to change anything. People can vent their frustration at least and at the minimum they are giving 2 days of free time……
Has it been going on for two weeks or is it getting fixed ASAP, both can't be true. Also, if the issue is Xbox exclusively this is why cross platform games stink. Things take forever to get approved through Sony or Microsoft, then because they play on inferior devices the PC gamers have to suffer downtimes.I get that it's not convient for you. I'm in EU too.
But, the reason is most likely due to the maintenance team is located in JP.
We are getting 2 (10 if you're on Xbox) days compensated. Let's not be karens.
The fix is apparently to patch the Xbox freezing issue. I'm sure the xbox community is happy the issue that been going on for 2 weeks is getting attention ASAP and not waiting until next week.
If the issue affected PC/Playstation I'm sure people would say the same thing, demanding it to get patched ASAP a solution is found.
I sympathize with everyone upset. Stuff like this is par for the course with any MMO or online-only game.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter for what or why they take the game down. It's their product and they can do with it what they want. They could just shut the game down indefinitely on a whim if they wanted to and we'd just have to deal with it.
So, whatever your grievances are you're free to voice them but don't expect much of anything to come of it aside from your own stress.
I like tribalism. I dislike cross platforms because of this. PC gamers have to suffer because people on inferior systems ran by massive companies that control updates being released decide what's best. If you link yourself directly to Microsoft gaming or Sony gaming you get what you get, PC players shouldn't suffer for that choice. That's stupid.
I play ff14 on pc and ps5. There is no difference. Even on pc I play with controler.
You can do hard content without addons and even if someone has an addon and you are on console you are not at any disadventage.
Sparating the servers will just result in tribalism and empty worlds.
I'm really much on the internet but even I have to say now:
"Touch some grass"
A 4 hour maintenance is not the end of the world.
Everyone gets 2 days and Xbox gets 10.
Wouldn't that ruin the cross-platform part though? This is why we need separate servers for console and pc.. The experiences of each system are so different. FF 14 on the computer has its 400+ third party apps and 5 bots which are fully supported and have been working for 10 years. Console players are so disadvantaged vs computers.
Why not? There are other markets than japan, you know?Honestly I was wondered why they brought FFXIV to X Box in general.
Isn't this console dieing for years now? Sales in Japan are very poor.
Globally, things aren't going well either. I also heard that it's pointlessly difficult
for X Box players to make the FFXIV subscription.
It's just my personal opinion, but I think it was a mistake to port it to X Box.
But I have not much knowlegde of how the buisness goes and why they did it.
Getting the game on more platforms is not a bad thing.
Supposedly its been an issue since EA launched, hence 2 weeks.Has it been going on for two weeks or is it getting fixed ASAP, both can't be true. Also, if the issue is Xbox exclusively this is why cross platform games stink. Things take forever to get approved through Sony or Microsoft, then because they play on inferior devices the PC gamers have to suffer downtimes.

this is my issue with it, if they just did the Tuesday maintenance today I'd be fine with it. They won't, they will have this and then also the normal Tuesday maintenance as well.
I think the first intended maintenance (and not just hotfix emergency maintenance) is going to be likely on the 16th, 2 weeks after (official) launch to introduce the first Raids.
