I think the first intended maintenance (and not just hotfix emergency maintenance) is going to be likely on the 16th, 2 weeks after (official) launch to introduce the first Raids.

I'd be less mad if i had already done my roulettes, It's timed in a way that reset will hit before I can even log in. It is what it is I guess.
I do find it odd how most games don't need long maintence periods to update the game, but ff14 does, Don't know if it's a mmo thing but no other live service game I played has generally had such downtime.
Given that it's saturday evening over in japan they are probably enjoying performing this maintenance even less that we do, so they must have a very good reason.
Something like a serious security issue, of fixing a serious exploit, or a serious bug that could compromise the database integrity, or something like that.
RIP Viper 28/06/2024 - 04/07/2024. It was a fun almost one week
Most of their maintenance times end a little early, so most of the time I think it's just them making sure they enough time to do everything. Better to plan for longer than you think incase stuff goes down the crapper mid-way through.I'd be less mad if i had already done my roulettes, It's timed in a way that reset will hit before I can even log in. The emergency maintenance timing is an inconvenience to many, but, what's far more important here is that they are showing their commitment to the game and Xbox platform. I'm happy to see the fixes being rolled out as soon as they possibly could. It would feel selfish to get upset over it

Yeah exactly. They got 8 days of free game time already for problems and hopefully this fixes it for them. It's called an emergency maintenance for a reason and I'm sure Xbox players are happy it's happening right now.The emergency maintenance timing is an inconvenience to many, but, what's far more important here is that they are showing their commitment to the game and Xbox platform. The patch is up already by the way so I guess they're testing it atm.

It's an emergency maintenance. It is not like they woke up on the wrong side of the bed and decided to spite their player base. I am finally touching grass after EA and all the lvling craze I got into. Why on earth in the maintenance time so stupid, like it's a weekend and your deciding to do 4 hour maintenance from 12:30 until 16:30, who thought that was a good idea. We need to have a free day sub for this because that pretty much the whole day for some of us who are not able to play that much.
