I thought the voice-over sounded good and I enjoyed it. I think people are being weird about this. There have been other prominent roles with worse acting and I don't recall threads being generated about them.

I saw a post yesterday that, to cement their point, felt the need to include real-life pictures of all the people doing voice-overs for this character in various languages. As if that has anything to do with how well their voice-over work is.

The difference is, those roles didn't spend an entire expansion taking the spotlight from the WoL. We are backseated in EVERY SINGLE CUTSCENE so that we can hear her yapping. And it is so terribly flat and in your face that it makes the entire MSQ experience absolutely miserable.

I don't know why our role has anything to do with this. We're a silent character in every story; everyone around us is always doing the talking because our character is only capable of gesturing. Ardbert, Emet, etc., they all do the heavy lifting while we stand around and smile or scowl.

It matters, because in literally every other expansion, even if we weren't the focus, we were an active participant. Not a background character that even the camera doesn't bother to show.

Ok, you sound more upset that your character wasn't the center of every scene, so I'm not sure what this has to do with Wuk Lamat's voice actor. That sounds like a complaint for a writing or cinematograph threads. Are you saying losing the scene to someone else would have been fine if that someone else was gods gift to character performance? I can certainly understand never being able to get enough of, say, Emet, but there are other characters in the game.

I don't think we're going to see eye to eye on this.

In the past we were the ones to solve problems, in this expansion's story it fades to black after every dungeon and trial and we get
"Wow Wuk Lamat great work beating that beast by yourself"
    *WoL nods approvingly*
"Wow thanks guys I can't believe *I* did it all by myself by believing in myself"
It's like our accomplishments are a joke, we do nothing, even the in-universe fights are decided by Wuk Lamat solving the problem instead of us and then we just give moral support and nod silently.

I want to be the main character and do the cool stuff, I don't want to watch the writer's OC do all the cool stuff and then thank me for supporting them in a cutscene later.
This didn't happen in previous stories, we weren't the entire focus but we took charge and did things by ourselves to help out instead of just watching the real MC of the expansion do everything cool.
We didn't give moral support for Aymeric to beat Thordan, we just stopped him. We didn't cheer on the sidelines as Lyse worked through her self doubt in standing up to Zenos and the Empire, we just fought him ourselves.
