except dark. poor bastards. Dark was my main tank till shb, when it got turned into a warrior cloneYup, tanks used to need to do damage because of how their aggro management worked, but with how tank stance works now, they're - by all means - just a DPS with extra survivability. They don't need their 123 or aoe combos anymore when a single Shield Lob and Total Eclipse [and WAR/DRK/GNB equivalents] can do the trick...ohh but what do they get for EW? well would you look at that, more damage skills! [that they don't actually need for tanking!]
Wish healers had the problem of receiving more damage spells, sheesh. Sounds like a nice problem to have honestly.
That's quite the hypocrisy that SE is practicing. One thing that does amuse me a little on this topic.
I did a 'lol who needs tanks' Titan HM in 2.0 on WHM using Medica II to build a comical agro lead over a group compared mostly of the EU 1st BCOB team's DPS. Medica II got changed to prevent this a week or two later.
People started using Summoner's Titan to tank RamuhEX removing the need for a tank there. This also got nerfed a week or two later.
Figure out a way to do an Extreme or Savage without Tanks and you can bet it's going to get nerfed ASAP. Do the same with no healers and SE don't seem to bat an eye lid at it.

Wait until you fully grasp macros and be able to turn SMN into a literal 1 button rotation. It's even worse for new players. Try it. Make a new character on a fresh world server and pick a healer job. YOU'LL DO NOTHING beyond spam 1-dps spell for quest after quest, for level after level, for freaking ever. It's the most brain-dead, boring, terrible design I've ever seen in any MMO I've ever played. No hyperbole. No exaggeration. This is fact.
The only problem I see is shoehorning healers into the 2 min burst meta, especially WHM.
WHM will want to use their 3 Glare IV, Blood Lily and also their DoT under raid buffs. That's 5 GCDs. And WHM is the healer with the least amount of off-GCD healing available.
It’s a good thing not to answer your enemies. I scarcely ever do. Perhaps Emily is more like me than I am like myself. Perhaps she would rather not answer her friends, even. She keeps it all in her heart.
So maybe this is a dumb question, but if healer dps kits actually existed, how well are healers expected to be able to execute those kits in week 1 savage? What about by the time the following alliance raid patch drops and everyone's better geared for the current savage tier? I'm sure it'd vary by the party comp too, but should a healer be able to get away with just spamming the basic attack spell like now?
People are not asking for DPS or even tank levels of complexity in the healer DPS kits.
There wasn't really any complaints back when SCH had two DoTs and Shadowflare to juggle between Broil spam.
So I'm taking that as a yes, and I wasn't trying to say that's unreasonable either.
I just can't fully wrap my head around the folks who are terrified of even having a second dot that's barely even a dps gain.
After reading through some threads here, it gave me the impression that these were all rooted from healers being homogenized. When I was still learning to be an omni-healer, I had to learn each healer's toolkit because while they're all healer jobs they have their own identity and purpose. Not very much so since Shadowbringers. The challenge was gone.
I agree that it's not the DPS abilities that kept healers from healing, but it has become very lenient, and the standards were lowered to learn the jobs. I'm very disappointed to encounter Cure 1 spammers in Level 90 dungeons and it breaks my healer heart whenever I hear it being casted upon me as tank.![]()
Healers need more healing, they aren't getting enough of a chance to and it is hurting healers.
