Wow, Wuk Lamat is really single-handedly ruining the DT story...

If they really put her into the main cast while ignoring Lyse (who they had no problem sidelining) I don‘t know if I ever want anything to do with this game anymore. It would just show how tonedeaf they are to even huge negative feedback across languages.

Right now it seems they wrote the story while on the high horse with EW (lots of players, lots of praise) thinking they could do everything right. Or maybe it was written in a time when Yoshida and co were preoccupied with something else and were to late to change anything. That would at least explain all the panic interviews before the expansion like saying „hey we will have lots and lots of content while saying almost nothing about the story.
At least that’s how I try to explain all this. But if they really continue this path it will become clear to me that they don‘t care for this game anymore and why should I care for them then?

Arrogance and complacency will always bite developers in the ass eventually. Look at Blizzard, Bioware, Bethesda (lots of B's huh), they were all beloved developers who could do no wrong at one point, but look at them now. We can never take these things for granted.

I believe that, right now, they believe that most of the negative feedback for Wuk Lamat are from the "loud minority" since they mostly ignore the forum and listen to content creators and twitter users. And since people on Twitter are quite positive towards Wuk Lamat, I believe that she will still play a major role up until or beyond the next expansion, acting as a new member of Scion and leaving Tural to Koana when she goes on adventure with the scion. Furthermore, since now "a threat to the world is a threat to Tural", we might see Wuk more often than we think.

You would be correct, so far this thread has 131 likes, there is most definitely more than 131 people playing this game if there was real support op would have gotten more likes, everyone I've spoken to ingame seems to find the story fine and are liking it, there seems to be no discourse.

Most people don't come to make an account to a forum, and a lot of people stopped playing because they don't like it, or they changed their wol and dropped it, or will just not engage with you because you want so badly be positive about a shitty writting that nobody can't critisize it even it many people don't like it. Like how many people is just talking to be canceled on twitter for saying they don't like with excuses and acusations like "you are just sexist and racist" and etc. I've seen many people being totally assholes because people don't like it and we want it to be better instead of what we got which is, not good.

There is discourse even in the game. I also had discussions in dungeon runs but both our experiences are just anecdotal.

Also you would have to look at the likes in comparison to forum dwellers just saying.

Third, be it the Japanese forum or the ff14 Reddit All those are known for positivity the Reddit one is even known for downvoting negative opinions but not this time.
There is far more discourse over the expansion story then ever before.
There are also quite a lot new people on the English forum just login in to give an opinion on the story so it’s not even the usual suspects this time.

I don‘t know what the majority thinks but thinking that’s it’s just the typical loud minority is wrong this time.

If they continue the story with her i let my sub go and rather play wow again. Story there is shit anyway, but at least the dungeons and raids are engaging. I really like FF Story, but if they ruin it like this, there is nothing for me that pulls me into this game.

Right now im just farming and leveling crafting jobs...somehow that is more engaging and fun then the whole of the msq.

As I said in another post, I started off not liking her at all and no I don't use ENG VA never have so thats not the reason I liked her, I have only reached midpoint and I 've stopped playing the MSQ to do other things, Do i feel WL has too much screentime so far, yes I do, do I feel the need to absolutely dumpster fire and hate on the entire story, no I don't, this is the difference between us.

I like to think im a little more level headed than over emotional in a video game, if I honestly disliked it fully I would have completely quit and went and did something else, I have over 1000 games on steam alone in backlog, this doesnt include consoles so its not as if im lacking for things to do bar time to actually play

You are talking about something I didn't even mentioned. But let me tell you: the opinions and critiques are about THE STORY, some of the msq gameplay and the rest is praising the new zones, dungeons and trials which are good. So of course, people will still play it even if they despise the story of DT and Wuk Lamat. Because there is still something, and many of us paid the sub to play with friends too. So it's not like you are special saying this. Even disliking it fully, I have a subscription, I have friends to play with, and etc. Disliking it doesn't mean you go to play other games and that's it. It's just many people dropped the game because for them the Story and Wuk Lamat are reason enough. And don't let me start on how many people is sad about the change of the graphics of their WoL. But that has nothing to do with the main theme here, which is: the story is bad, and most of it comes from Wuk Lamat character.

If YoshiP has his balls intact, he will tell his team to slam the brakes on 7.1 and remake that shit. If I see any more of Wuk Lumat I'm quitting. This was a horrible expansion for so many reasons.
