Wow, Wuk Lamat is really single-handedly ruining the DT story...

I think the worldbuilding is a huge problem too. Original part of Eorzea we now know to be located somewhere around what is Africa on Earth, but that did not influence its design, it's a fairly uniquely laid out fantasy land with its own visual flairs and an assortment of cultures. Garlemald was a non-descript evil Empire so it had to be Rome, Russia with maybe a tinge of WW2 Germany. Well alright. Far East was oddly pan-Asian but still within expectations of a fantasy world. For some reason, Americas had to be semi-realistically represented - here's Machu Pichu, here's Texas (with cowboys) which from Yoshida's own words required "sensitivity consultants" to make sure it's being properly represented. But, huh? Why are you bringing real world representation into an ostensibly made up world all of a sudden? Why is the game in which people of various shapes and creeds have come together several times is now lecturing me on how banding together and accepting one another is good, actually? I heard some suggest that the role of WoL and scions was consciously toned down to avoid "white savior" syndrome, that's why the story is 90% Wuk and 10% Erenville. But... are you sure WoL is white? They don't hail from fantasy Europe and you can customize them to be a person of color, meanwhile a lot of people in Tural who aren't a birdman, a Hrothgar or a Mamool Ja is white with some exceptions. How did this happen?

You can't tell me Western diversity cultists aren't influencing the game in a big way, it is plain to see.

I feel by 7.4 if not sooner it'll be the possible nail in the coffin. I think once I finish msq I'll quit till the next set Hildebrand series is fully released (if we even get that far with how the tourists tend to kill off any remaining enjoyment for whatever hobby or pastime they brute force their way into.) On my alt I'll be taking my sweet time getting her other jobs to 90 before I even consider Wuk's grand adventure. And that's if I don't end up quitting before level 100 on my main first. (I want to make it to Solution 9 at least)

It'll be pretty insane if FFXI outlasts this game, all because of pressure from the so called "minority" but SBI already dipped its claws in SE, Yoshida is gonna learn very fast that you should NEVER ever give those kind of people an inch, they are worse than cancer.

I hope this "Texas" zone will at least have a fitting bgm and not godforbid "Disney Wild West" to go with Tuliyollal's "Disney Resort"

Do yourself a favor and just story skip. The only characters worth any screentime don't get any solution to their arcs until the very end of the last zone. By then I was so checked out I just didn't care anymore.

She's definitely someone's self-insert OC. It fills every terrible fanfic trope. Right down to being instantly loved by all except for the overly-cruel mini-boss, who of course runs away crying after losing a fight against our fearless hero while our character watches approvingly.

After the end of the story, she has become a "Tural" guy of the scion, if there is anything Tural related, they are going to contact or interact with Wuk Lamat in some way. Hell, they may even elevate her to the "unofficial" member of the Scion due to her status and connection to WoL, former employer, companion, and semi-savior.

I thought the same. I started to not understand why everything is so realistic and so directly influenced by the real life? Like, we didn't need it to be america, just a new fantasy setting with inspiration, but it's plainly america for no reason, it started to hurt the setting with the ponchos in every npc you look at, which is NOT realistic, and then the cowboys part that was not necessary at all? And deserts and trains? We had that in the First. Like, Eorzea has inspiration from Europe but I can't say which part of it is Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, etc, because is well done, it has inspirations, it does not copy it to make it look like real life, because, trully it doesn't make sense. Even Garlemald is not Russia, but has some inspirations, that's it.

Stormblood was Lyse's story too but it was not to the point of Wuk's level of obnoxious

Stormblood retold with Wuk's style would be Lyse helping Cirina become Khagan and also helped Hien save Doma while WoL watches in the sidelines and nods

Oh and in the end, she comes up and gave Zenos+Shinryu a big ass whooping too to end the expansion. I wonder how well received this alternate Lyse would be lol

Even so, EW is just good until the half of it. The it just has bits and pieces here and there that make you continue and say, well it's not that bad, I can accept it, let's continue. Then you have something you adore, and then something bad again. It was a bit of a mess but still enjoyable for everyone. DT it's not, everything is bad, and the worst is that I expected more of Erenville and Krile, who we know from before and they never had a chance to shine trully, but their opportunity is stoled by Wuk Lamat, which is a new character and I don't care about her. She was fine at the beginning, but when she stole everything from the other characters, and not just the WoL, I said: this is enough I hate you. I hated Zenos, but you are insufferable and a mary sue.

I believe that, right now, they believe that most of the negative feedback for Wuk Lamat are from the "loud minority" since they mostly ignore the forum and listen to content creators and twitter users. And since people on Twitter are quite positive towards Wuk Lamat, I believe that she will still play a major role up until or beyond the next expansion, acting as a new member of Scion and leaving Tural to Koana when she goes on adventure with the scion. Furthermore, since now "a threat to the world is a threat to Tural", we might see Wuk more often than we think.
